What an awesome find. Superb music, food, staff and drinks. I think I experienced THE best cocktail I have ever tasted in the Susumu #1 and would recommend it to anyone. A really cool atmosphere, didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back again soon!

User

What a find! Such a great experience. The music was lovely & the whole acoustic setup was amazing. We were definitely not disappointed with food either. Salt beef hash & amazing warm & runny chocolate brownie with vanilla cream! Delicious. I finally was allowed to taste my son-in-law's coffee cocktail. What can I say - except we eill definitely come back, next time we are in London. Thank you

User

What a beautiful place, what a beautiful night !!!

Spiritland - I loved everything about it - the service, the food, the drinks (although the cocktail "Deez Nuts" was a bit too strong for me), THE COFFEE - delicious latte with shot of Baylis in it- just the way I like it... THE MUSIC !!! The music there has been taken to a different level- the sound is incredible and I loved the fact there are high quality speakers in every single toilet!

Thanks again Denis for the beautiful time, we must do it again very soon ❤❤❤❤

This place is awesome. Drinks, music and ambience

User

Something different, a genuine place where music takes centre stage and nice all round vibe to hang out in.

User

Really good atmosphere, great music and excellent service. Their music selection is very nice which is great.

User

Really cool bar in a wicked part of London. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Music was nice Balearic chill out for a Sunday hot Sunday afternoon

User

My new favourite place! Great food and awesome sounds. I want to move in.

User

It's about music and sound here -- top marks for amazing tunes! Going back for more ASAP

User

I could only pop in for a quick stop. The service was really good. I told staff I was in a hurry and they brought my food super quick. Really can't wait to go back in the evening when the music gets turned up a bit and I can appreciate the full experience. P.s. They have better speakers in the loo than a lot of people have at home

User

DJd there last night and it was an immense joy to play on the completely beautiful Sound System and stand behind the most aesthetically pleasing DJ booth ever!!! Family and friends joined me and loved it too, relishing the beautiful cocktails and glorious sound. People mixed and mingled and many strangers came up... We chatted about what I was playing they were strangers no more. Thank you for inviting me to play Paul and Ian... You have a very special thing going on at Spiritland - long may it continue. Dellores x

User

Brilliant venue, lovely food, service excellent. Came for the early set and booked to come back for the evening set, requested same table which was granted. They couldn’t do enough for you

Again like someone else said I find it hard to review this place. After seeing the advert on Facebook I expected to be bowled over a little more. Don't get me wrong, it was far from rubbish but something also didn't hit the spot for me. Being a mastering engineer I was of course going to be all ears from the off and the room definitely needs tweaking. From when I first walked in there was a lot of resonance from the 300 to 500hz region and not much low end extention from 80hz down. We were sat near the speakers and I couldn't help feel the system was designed as a long throw. The detail from mids to tops were amazing though which makes me think it's more to do with the room rather than the wrong ears designing the drivers and cabinets. I'm unsure if the system set up changes at night as well as I could imagine it would.

We only had a ham and cheese toasty but it was to die for .. and to be fair at those prices I'm glad it was.

I would like to go back in 6 months time just to see what room or setup changes may of brought to the table.

great feel about the place though so can't knock it and it's always hard to do something different so good work.

User

I really admire what they are trying to do with this place and the music set up really is something to behold. There is no where in London with this kind of high quality sound and it's a sight to behold the valve amps and LV speakers. The only problem is the food. It's really quite a atrocious for both price and quality. The salt beef sandwich was the driest I have ever eaten and the chicken was pretty awful. In fairness the manager was very helpful, made no argument and was happy to change our dishes (unfortunately they were not much better). The chef who works in the open kitchen made it clear he was not happy by giving us dirty looks, shrugging his shoulders and then shouted to inform us we were wrong from across the restaurant. Whether we were wrong or right about the food being shouted at in an aggressive and argumentative manner is not the way forward. So top marks for venue, music and manager but zero for food and chef. Thanks.

User

Went there last night after booking a table for a few birthday drinks. Loved the decor and music. Was definitely a vibe me and my friends have been looking for for a while, although the crowd was not as diverse as we expected. Just the right music and mood for us. But we became extremely irritated as we were told not to dance after a couple of my friends decided to enjoy what the DJ was spinning, which was ridiculous as the bar was playing afro jazz, Latin jazz and house which is music genre which was invented to move to! We were then approached on numerous occasions and told that we were too loud which again was ridiculous for a Saturday evening as we weren't even being out of hand or aggressive in any shape or form. It was very sickening and led to most of my party leaving early because they felt picked on for being vibrant people. What a boring concept and a obvious use of under appropriation. I will not be going to your venue again and will tell my friends not to either. Not a place to go if you are fun, like music and want to have a good night. Thanks for putting my birthday night to a premature stop simply because we were having a good time. Very sad. Smh.

User

Had high hopes for this and really wanted it to work, it's nice and the staff are friendly but the sound did not blow me away, but the price of drinks did. Sad to say this is a bit Emperor's New Clothes to me, I've ticked that box and wont be back, wish that weren't the case but can't win them all.

User

Attractive place, but they should turn the music down or change the genre if you just want people to eat and chat without being too loud. Can you believe we were told to stop dancing to my DJ friends Afro-jazz!! I won't be going back thanks

User

Spiritland IS NOT what you think!!

Yes the place is nice, the music is good BUT the service is bad, the staff is very cold, they are NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL.

The nice music is loud so you are tempted to dance but dancing is not allowed, fair enough. As the music is loud you can struggle to have a conversation if you are a group of friends.

Even if we realized that we didn't like the vibe of that place because of the staff, we still tried to have good time. But we have been asked to be quiet! Seriously?? How am I supposed to enjoy a moment with my friends if I can't communicate???

If they don't want people to dance or try to speak louder than their music to have conversation, if they are trying to be a "chilled" place they need first TO PUT THE VOLUME DOWN AND HAVE A CHILL STAFF.

Not even talking about their expensive prices.

Having good music and a good venue cannot be enough guys.

I don't like your vibe.

I will tell people around me to don't go to this "wannabe cool" place.

It's a NO THANKS for me!

User

I went out of my way to visit this place as the marketing makes a big thing out of the sound system. There was no way that a person could effectively listen to the system with the din of Friday night boozers on a Wednesday night. They were a pretty civilized crown but not there to listen. Food was mediocre relative to other London bars. Service was good though.

The guy running the sounds did not seem to know much about the sound system, or was not interested in discussing it.
