About Spitfire Cafe

Cafe . Traditional English breakfast and home cooked food

Spitfire Cafe Description

I would like to introduce myself as the Proprietor of the Spitfire cafe where my husband Barry and myself Sally took over on 16th August. We are a family run business as our daughter Amy also works in the cafe.
Since we took over i found out that my grandad was in RAF Ground Crew and fought in Burma and Calcutta in 1942 and my Nan work in the Ammunition factory in Hertfordshire and because of this it has become a personal and business interest of ours.
We would like our cafe to represent and maintain the historical background of Biggin Hill and those who fought for our country.

superb staff Sally and her team are simply the best , food excellent and the displayed memorabillia makes the whole experience akin to eating in an aviation museum.

No better place for the aviation lover to enjoy a hearty meal

Visiting from Plano, Texas, USA. Stopped in for lunch yesterday and breakfast this morning. Lovely local cuisine. Enjoyed a traditional steak pie with a salad for lunch, very tasty. And had a wonderfully yummy bacon sandwich for breakfast. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Owner/manager is very welcoming and friendly. Just ask and she will gladly share some of the history of all the WWII memorabilia decorating the walls and ceiling of her cafe. Loved it!

Visited for breakfast ahead of my surprise Spitfire flight at Biggin Hill. Good food and staff very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Loved the memorabilia on all the walls, Sally even took the trouble to bring out extra items of interest to show us too. Cheers and thanks for making my day extra special.

This cafe is an amazing tribute to the RAF and the history of Biggin Hill. The food isn’t bad either!!! Well worth a visit for a nice breakfast and allow time to read the letters and combat reports on the walls.

Brilliant place, staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Food is lovely and there's so much to look at which staff are always happy to tell you about. They bring bits out for children to look at and have lots of special veteran days and events. Definitely recommend it.
