Sports Direct

It is what it is; a sports clothing and accessory store. Ideally one should know what one wants before entering, as the staff aren't particularly very helpful, if indeed you can track a member of staff down that seems to want to help.

We found what we wanted but asked for a different size that wasn't on the store floor. 5 mins later it arrived in the arms of a somewhat distracted member of staff, hovering for a few moments to make sure we had what we needed.

In the blink of an eye, he was gone.....

Overall a great range of products and competitive prices and offers, but I would highly suggest knowing what you need before going there, and making sure they have it in stock via a quick phone call before travelling!

Good deals, really obnoxious staff. The sort that think you're either out to rob the place or they're doing you a favour by serving you.

Horrible customer service. Asked for shoe size, they never got back to me, just waited for 10 minutes like an idiot, when i went to ask again they said i need to wait cuz they got customers...I was waiting 10 min already!

Having previously rated this place down and quite badly due to staff I can honestly say that today and last week both experiences were fantastic!

I took my 4 year and 7 year boys today to get shoes and the young man that dealt with us was nothing short of perfect in every aspect! Polite, patient and very understanding of my eldest.

Didn't catch his name but if he is anything to go by then you set a hell of a benchmark!

I have shopped in the store and online. In the store I tend to find the staff could be more helpful. It appears they are more concerned about selling you a sports direct bag and mug then assisting you with the tracksuit you want information on. They could reduce the long ques by putting more staff on the tills at busy times of the day. I shop online because I do not really like waiting around in long ques and the parking is always a problem at weekends. Overall I do find that Sports Direct offer good value for money.

Don't know why so many people slate it! I have shopped here for years and so long as you understand and can work with the returns policy then you shouldn't be disappointed.

Too many Indian workers touching my shoes, the place stinks of curry and has the odd atmosphere of slave labour

a very big store with loads of great value products and the latest football shoes available. Also with two floors it is much more easier to find what you are looking for.
