SPOTLIGHT PERFORMING ARTS

Welcome to Spotlight,
Established since 1995, we have grown and now have three Saturday sessions across the Tees Valley,
AM and PM sessions in The Acorn Centre, Acklam in Middlesbrough and AM sessions in Saltburn Learning Campus, Saltburn

Our Saturday sessions are fun and enjoyable , encouraging new friendships and friendship groups and learning new skills

WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR SESSIONS
Each week our members, work within groups appropriate to age and level

JUNIOR SPOTLIGHT
Within our junior session, we encourage our members to perform in front of their peers, work with partners and groups . We have dance and vocal warm ups, dance and performance sessions with carefully selected and ”requested” songs , mime and performance skills, and fun games and confidence building

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Being a theatre school, our sessions cover a vast range of exciting subjects within performing arts including,

Dance : incorporating various styles such as musical theatre, street , modern Jazz and contemporary.

Drama : incorporating mime, improv, script writing and development, character building, accents, projection and techniques.

Singing : incorporating vocal warm ups , vocal techniques
Musical theatre and popular music, microphone technique


We believe the creative arts can help benefit all who get involved, whether it be to pursue a career within performing arts or just as a hobby , to be part of a theatre group and to have fun on a Saturday. Many of our members stay with us their entire school life, and its rewarding to see them develop into confident young adults.
