Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa

Situated in a lovely old market town, with the historical Cowdray ruins just down the road. The bar was lovely and cosy, with it's sloping roof and original fireplaces. The staff make you feel welcome and are friendly.

We've been here several times. It is so cozy, friendly and breakfast is exceptional. Love the area.

Nice place to go and unwind and relax plus massages are lovely. Hotel is nice and cute little town surrounding to exploit although not much to actually do around except use spa.

Afternoon tea at the Spread Eagle was quaint and very English. I did feel that some staff members could have been more aware of patrons, many times I noticed people looking for assistance. The tea was lovely however slightly let down by some of the food, the scones were a bit dry and selection somewhat limited. Having said that I could not have eaten another bite and the staff were more than happy to package us up a doggy bag for leftovers. The setting was perfect but service could be polished.

A one night stay with my husband - package included bed, breakfast, three course dinner and a £30 voucher for a spa treatment. The hotel is stunning, like stepping back in time. The room was very comfortable. Swimming in the inky blue water of the pool was incredibly relaxing in a sunlit atrium. Massage was excellent. Wonderful staff and inventive menu and wine list. Thank you Spread Eagle - I feel like I've had a holiday.

I attended a wedding and stopped overnight. The bedrooms were clean, tidy and cosy with lovely traditional touches. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room used for the ceremony was beautifully decorated and made the most of the space available. The food is of high quality. Highly recommend staying here and hosting events here.

I attended the Spread Eagle for a family wedding. Throughout the event the staff were great. They provided me with cufflinks, which i had forgotten, ensured drinks were filled, and were generally great all round. The room was was very clean and came with tea and coffee. The bathroom had shampoo and the like and an gown with slippers. The food was of high quality. I will be certainly be looking into visiting again.

Really friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the "River" room. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Only minor issues we experienced were at breakfast where the staff forgot to bring toast to the table and we were sitting a while before being served. However staff were professional and polite throughout our stay. I Would definitely go again if in the area.

The hotel and the Spa facilities deserves 5 stars definitely, but because we had restaurant included, the service was... hm.. almost satisfactory. The waiters were in general elders so, we had served literally 1 starter and 1 main course in 2hrs 15min. After a spa day you don't really want to spend that much time at a table, but they were careless, didn't bring a menu, waited 20 mins to give an order for the dessert? I mean come on... there were literally 6 tables including ours.. that's a joke. But the hotel is quite good, had a nice pool day.
