St Alban's Church is in Chester Road, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, and is an active Roman Catholic parish church. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It was designed by A. W. N. Pugin and is described as a "church of exceptional interest among the works of this major architect".

Today is recognised across the world as International Conscientious Objectors' Day, when we remember those from the Roman Empire to Modern South Korea, from both World Wars and across the political spectrum who refused to kill.
During World War 1, many conscientious objectors served in the Ambulance Unit, which entailed them crawling out into no mans land to tend and recover the wounded, hence saving many lives.
Please pray for peace so that no one will be faced with the horrors of war.
Some helpful information during Mental Health Awareness Month.....
Please pray for the souls of Fr Simeon Yampa and five of his parishioners who were murdered yesterday when between twenty and thirty gunmen attacked a church in Diablo, Burkina Faso, during Mass. The attackers then burned down the church.
The local Bishop describes the young murdered parish priest, Fr Simeon, as "...a humble person, obedient and full of love. He loved his parishioners."
May they rest in peace.

A great post from our friends at St Paul’s Church....
A BIG thank you to everyone who made last night's Home Groups' celebration such a success.
After a very prayerful mass, with Rachel playing the church organ for us, about fifty people made their way to the Parish Centre to share yummy food, good company and excellent discussions.
Many thanks go to Cecilia, Deacon Gyorgy and everyone who worked hard behind the scenes to bring us together in celebration.
Please pray today, on World Day of Prayer for Vocations, that there will be a generous response to the call to serve God in whatever way He choses.
Please join us, in St Alban’s, at 5pm on Monday 13th May for a Novena and Rosary followed by Mass and procession to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
It will be a great celebration of our miraculous Mother of Fatima.
Our hardy parish Ramblers have been out and about again!!
Organiser Jerome tells us, that on the recent Bank Holiday Monday, they had a very good ramble and the weather was kind to them. He says, “16 in all set out and all returned safely😁”.
Why not join them on their next adventure? Watch out for future rambles. Everyone is welcome!
Don't forget the Home Groups' Mass of Thanksgiving is taking place this Saturday at 6:30pm.
Following Mass there will be a shared table in the Parish Centre. Please come along and meet other Home Group participants or if you have never been to a Home Group come find out what it is all about!
