We give thanks to God for calling 14 candidates for baptism, first communion and confirmation two Sundays ago - Sunday 30th June, 2019.
Special thanks to Diocese of Chelmsford Bishop Peter Hill for his (origami skills 😉 and) blessed presence, Rev Bernard Noghiu for his dedication preparing our order of service, candidates and details for the smooth running of mass, Canon Ade Ademola and Rev Michael Sparrow for assisting and bringing their candidates from Emmanuel and North Oc...kendon respectively. Thanks also Rev Salvador Telen for preparing our confirmation candidates and Mark Sapaen Watan for preparing our First Communion candidates. Also, to our talented organist Tom Fowkes and Janelle Balagtey Gawigawen for the photos.
Special mention to our confirmation and received candidates for making the public declaration affirming their faith, but also to the parents and sponsors for guiding the young into baptism, first communion and confirmation.
Lastly, to all our leaders (young and old) from St Barnabas whose dedication and service to the church is unparalleled. God bless us all!

Is your child (age 7-13) Intrerested in joining a local choir? Consider 6-weeks with St Barnabas CommunityChildren’s Choir
Start: Thursday 13th June, 2019 (6 weeks) Time: 6:30pm-7:30pm Venue: St Barnabas Church, St Barnabas Rd, E17 8JZ.
... The children will be learning a selection of church and secular songs. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn how to sing in a choir, but more importantly teamwork.

Divine Compassion - the theme of our Lent sermons inspired by the writings of Fr Andrew, SDC. Here is the first: an introduction to the life of the religious, Franciscan, artist, priest and "saint". #FrAndrew Listen here 👇 https://www.dropbox.com/s/…/2019LentOne FatherAndrewIntro.wa…

We had a lovely Ash Wednesday mass here at Noon with a special visitor from the Philippines. This evening we are encouraging people to go either to St Saviour's at 7pm or to join some of us at 7.30pm at Emmanuel Forest Gate for the licensing of Prince Doms Odoemena. #AshWednesday

Thank you everyone who came to the Christmas Fayre today... and especially those who helped, too many to mention, but you know who you are. I’ll get back to you with a grand total!Thank you everyone who came to the Christmas Fayre today... and especially those who helped, too many to mention, but you know who you are. Reminder that the Christmas Fayre is this Sunday. If anyone can spare an hour on Saturday to help set up it would be much appreciated. I will be in the hall from 4-7pm. We need to set out tables and decorate! Many thanks!

Shh! Don't tell the children! I am looking for a "Second"Santa for the Christmas Fayre. Santa has asked that he could have some time off during the afternoon to.. well eat his mince pies and drink his sherry... but we do not wish to disappoint the children. If you can step in for an hour or so, it would be highly appreciated. You may also wish to bring your own elf as Chief Elf likes to get up to other mischief during the day too. Message me and I will put you in touch with Santa at the North Pole. Payment is in mulled wine, or tea and mince pies or cake. And if you bring Rudolf, I will ensure carrots.
