The pupils sang carols and hymns to the residents which lifted spirits and filled all with the love and joy of the season. Thanks to the staff of Mill Brow who facilitated this visit.

Pupils at St. Bede's have enjoyed a delightful Design and Technology day, delving deeply into the realms of food technology! All children were part of activities based around food technology which involved food tasting, food preparation, cooking and baking, food packaging - not to mention health and safety when working with food! A huge thank you to Design and Technology Subject Advisers Mrs. Faulkner and Miss Jones for organising the action-packed day!
At St. Bede's Catholic Junior School, we are proud of our commitment to learn about and study other faiths. We have recently studied Judaism and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Seder Plate. Seder means 'order' and the Jewish Passover ceremonies are arranged in a specific order. Special plates and cutlery are used which are kept exclusively for Passover. We also learnt about the special foods used during the Seder meal and their meaning.
Year 5/6 - Sportshall Athletics Competition Following three years of narrowly missing out on the top spot, St. Bede’s were finally crowned the Sportshall Champions of Widnes in November! In front of a large crowd of noisy spectators and fellow competitors, pupils produced a fantastic display of throwing, jumping, running and team spirit to achieve a memorable and well-deserved victory. The team will now have the honour of representing Halton at the Merseyside Games in the summer. A big well done to all the pupils who took part.
Cheshire Schools’ Table Tennis Association Team Championships: Eight boys and eight girls represented St. Bede’s in the annual Cheshire School’s Table Tennis Championships held at the Widnes Table Tennis Centre. Due to the extremely high standard of table tennis being played at St. Bede’s, we were able to enter two teams of 4 boys and 4 girls. I am pleased to report that after nearly 3 hours of “blocking” and “smashing”, all four teams had performances they can be truly proud... of. So much so, that St. Bede’s now have the best boys and girls teams in Cheshire – a fantastic achievement! Overall Results: Boys Girls “A” Team – Champions “A” Team – Champions “B” Team – Runners up “B” Team – Third Place
The victorious teams have now been given the honour of representing Cheshire at the “Zone” Finals held in Blackburn in February. A big well done to all the children who took part.
