"Lauren really was peaceful, not stressing and so comfortable, it changed my perspective of hospice care completely." 💕
While Lauren and her loved ones benfitted from our care, two out of three local people can't. You can change that. Support our Full Circle Appeal and help us reach more of those that need us as they face death and loss: http://bit.ly/2OW7oLw

"The great care people are given here has had a real impact on me. You’re allowed and encouraged to spend time with patients instead of having to rush off to care for someone else." 🧡 We're currently recruiting for Nursing Assistants for both our Inpatient Unit and to visit patients out in our local community. We are looking for full or part time canvassers to recruit players to the St Catherine’s Lottery! 🎉
The lottery is a popular, low cost and fun way to support St Catherine’s. If you are a great communicator and have sound people skills, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for. This is a great chance to enjoy your work and know that you’re making a difference to St Catherine’s.
We’re looking for hardworking, motivated and dedicated people, ideally with some sales or fundraising experience, but comprehensive and on-going training is provided. If your interested or would like some more information please contact the lottery team on 01293 447373 or lottery@stch.org.uk

Today, we met Christine who comes to our Living Well Group at our Day Hospice. She talked about how coming to the hospice has made her new friends, and made her feel less lonely as she copes with her diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis. We wanted to share this short film with you to honour International Friendship Day, which happens to be today 💕

User

Sending a big #InternationalFriendshipDay hug to all of our supporters and fundraisers! 😊 Without you, we couldn't be there for local people when they need us most. You're simply amazing! 🧡

Please like and share this post to help us find our missing lottery winner!
Friday 13th July was certainly lucky for someone, as they won our big lottery prize of £1,000! Unfortunately, our winner has moved house since signing up, so we can't get hold of them to make them aware. We know that the winner is a male supporter, he joined our lottery in 2012 and once lived in the Langley Green area of Crawley. Help us find our lucky lottery winner and get his prize money to him! 😊
Think this might be you? Send us a private message! Not joined our lottery yet? You can do so here: http://bit.ly/2OeEbLE

Last week, we asked our community to share their advice for anyone struggling with their grief. We were completely overwhelmed with the response, with so many beautiful and wise words shared. If you took the time to comment, thank you so much.
We wanted to share some of our favourite pieces of advice and wisdom. We hope that, if you are finding things a bit difficult at the moment, these are of some comfort 🧡

What an amazing place...cannot find words to express my gratitude for the fantastic job that every single person does on a daily basis...nothing is too much trouble for them...all I can say is that they are all angels who dedicate their lives to ensuring that those who are facing the end of their journey here in this life can do so with dignity and peace of mind...Can't thank everyone enough for their service...love them all to bits...

User

These absolutely phenomenal people at St Catherine’s Hospice looked after my dad for the last few months of his life both at home and in the hospice. I can not fault them one bit. It’s such a sad decision having to decide whether or not to choose a hospice but rest assured they supply a home from home atmosphere and continuous support both during and after! They are amazing. X

Thank you everyone at St Catherine’s for the amazing care and support you have given my Mumma Alison Oliver over the years. She’s attended the Day Hospice for 10 years and had such huge love for you guys, she’s been made to feel part of a team with her bit of input towards the new hospice plans, featured in videos and brochures, had home visits from the medical team and passed away last week at your beautiful hospice supported by your amazing team, from nurses, carers, doctors, volunteers, gardeners, community team, catering (dunno what she’d have done without her lemon sorbet) cleaners, admin staff, front desk, coffee shop, physio, management, therapy team and the brilliant colouring books that became so important to me, The list of people is endless and I’m sure I’ve missed some incredibly important people off but not one person was not an amazingly supportive Face to us all. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so brilliant for my Mumma. I will forever be grateful for everything St Catherine’s has done for us. I’d also like to thank the other patients at the day hospice who were there for mum over the years I know some became good friends sharing hints and tips and an understanding ear that we as family could never do in the same way. For me personally I need to thank another special bunch of people, the families of the patients who were in St Catherine’s over the last few weeks who with their hugs, smiles, understanding nods and late night chats in the octagon helped me through a very difficult time.

Mum is comfortable and in good hands. She used to work here and now she's 'in house' so to speak - what a wonderful place.

User

I'm biased as I work there but nonetheless my opinion is a genuine one- I feel very privileged to work in St Catherine's, not just for the excellence of care we deliver day in day out to both patients and their families and friends- which is very satisfying- but also for the pleasure of working with a really great team, right through from the front line clinical team to the fundraisers, housekeeping team, kitchen team and all the ancillary teams and volunteers without whom we just could not function. So for what it's worth- that's my opinion. Have a good day and a great Christmas!

User

I recently experienced again the amazing care that St.Catherines hospice offers. My amazing mother in law Diane Groves spent two weeks with you for symptom control but was adamant she wanted to see out her days in her beautiful home. The community team were there with us every day and always at the end of the phone. Together we managed to get her home and to pass peacefully surrounded by family and her amazing husband who was visiting from ITU. Thank you for all you did for our family xx

User

I just wanted to say I think your staff are angels in human form. The change in my father since you have been looking after him has been extraordinary. We are truly blessed to have such a brilliant organisation on our doorstep.
