So disappointed...."dott" Cooke zero medical knowledge

Great reception and support staff but the doctors have a lot to learn about including patients in decision making regarding their long term care.

Awful, left without medication all weekend on several occasions, gp's never look at your conditions or medication that you've had in the past! Emergency appointment was booked then to be told no I had it wrong as I wasn't on the list and the Dr wasn't even in that day, phoned later to make another emergency appointment to be told I missed the appointment the day before and the Dr was in! Asked for investigation, never heard back! Went to hospital gp in the end! I have M.E and photosensitive and can't walk so use a scooter or chair and was told to go for a nice walk in the sun!!! They were also responsible for my 80 yr old parents leaving Cheltenham and returning to Ireland as all their meds were changed and they were both extremely sick! Their gp in Ireland was furious and put them back on their meds and they're fine now.

Over the last few years due to various reasons I have used the surgery a lot and I can't fault the service I have received...
I have had very good support from the last 3 drs I have seen..Really can't praise Dr A Clark enough...it's the nhs system that is slowing my treatment down not the Dr's..

I have always had a great patient/Dr. experience at St . Catherine's Surgery. I saw Dr.Hunt for the first time today and came away feeling positive about getting my joint problem sorted and a follow up appointment already booked.

If you already dying... max what they will give you is blood test. If you have allergy or any that kind of problem, you have to wait for worse, then maybe in Cheltenham General Hospital somebody will make proper test and will help you. Yes, They save NHS money but not really help ordinary people. Big shame. I not recommend this place.

In all my 50 years of being under the NHS - THIS IS THE WORSE DOCTORS SURGERY I have come across. They have too many patients to doctor ratio and the receptionists dictate whether your appointment is urgent or not and the norm is to be told the next available appointment is between 7-14 days. The receptionists ARE NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED OR QUALIFIED and this takes the term gatekeepers to the extreme. You have to push to get a referral and if you have private health care only then will they do something.

On the whole, this is a very poorly managed surgery with one or two good Doctors in it. If you are prone to ill health or are worried in any way, FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER SURGERY.
