Today we had our leaving ceremony for the first of our Summer courses. Everyone was presented with certificates and reports as well as a few prizes. The teachers had only good things to say about the hard work and improvements that had been achieved. We also put on a session for students who showed interest in other courses we offer, it was incredibly warm so ice creams were provided.
Tomorrow morning, they are all leaving St Clare’s and going back home to countries across th...e world. We wish everyone a safe journey and a well-earned rest.
Welcome to the #StClaresFamily, we’ve loved having you here. Hopefully you’ve made friends from around the world and will keep in touch.

We’d love to say a huge thank you to @Tomrocksmaths for coming in and talking to our students today. He even stayed well beyond his time to answer questions from students interested in his journey to Oxford University and beyond. One such question was where could you go with a maths degree aside from teaching maths? Tom explained that maths, at its core, is about problem-solving and there is no career in the world where problem solving skills would not be a massive advantage

Just before our IB students went home for a well-deserved summer break, a group of them put on a musical called ‘Muybridge: The Musical, inspired by the life and work of photographer and inventor Eadweard Muybridge.
The script was written by John our Head of Art and Head of Music Roy arranged some original music from the period 1860-1893 in the USA, to create the score.
The hall was packed, and the students performed brilliantly over their two-night run, definite 5 star revie...w from all of us. Huge congratulations to everyone involved. #StClaresFamily #Musical #theatre #internationalbaccalaureate

Congratulations 🎖Rana 🏆who was the first winner of a St Clare’s hoodie. Students who post about their experience studying English with us this summer and who use the hashtag #stcsummer2109 and gain 100 likes or more are in with a chance to win. Though I did present her prize in the middle of a lesson which may have been a little embarrassing..sorry about that 🤷‍♂️#stclaresfamily

Our Interactive English students have had a busy week, combining their studies with trips to the Natural History Museum and Modern Art Gallery and using what they’d learned to create presentations in lessons.
We couldn’t let our visitors come to Oxford without giving them the experience of afternoon tea followed by a game of croquet on the lawn, marvellous.
We’ve even celebrated a birthday, happy birthday Santiago!

Our head of maths, David Harris, is just back from delivering some IB Professional development to teachers from Uplift Education in Dallas, Texas! Teaching for conceptual understanding, mathematical modelling and international-mindedness where some of the topics that David and the teachers explored together. The event was organised by Oxford University Press, for whom David has co-authored two of their four new IB Math textbooks

Alongside our summer courses for teenagers that started last week, yesterday our professional development workshops for IB teachers began with a registration and reception evening.
These workshops, taught in cooperation with the IB started this morning at our International College. Teachers have traveled from across the world to take part, share ideas and discuss improvements.
Our mission to advance international education and understanding doesn’t just begin and end with our wonderful students. It includes every alumni visit, reunion, meeting, guest, workshop and open events.

Our #STCSummer2019 students are getting up to all kinds of things in their first few days at St Clare’s. We make sure there are plenty of games, activities and excursions. Part of the St Clare’s experience is making friends from across the world, something we really encourage. After working so hard in lessons there needs to be some fun too! #studyabroad #studyinoxford #learnenglish

We are hugely proud of our students who donated car loads of items to raise money for the African Child Fund as part of #smallcharityweek. The money goes to improve children’s rights and access to education in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Take a look at their website at AfricanChildrensFund.org

Today we were delighted to welcome the CEO of the Boarding Schools' Association, Robin Fletcher. He was given a tour by our Principal and Vice-Principal and was very impressed!
