Christmas Eve Mass being held at 6 pm this evening in St Gregory's Social Centre (at the rear of the church). All welcome.
Yesterday Sunday 24th November, was the feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the Church's year. It was also Youth Sunday and the young people of the parish took part in mass, doing readings and providing the musical accompaniment. They even helped out afterwards with teas and coffees by doing the washing up.
It's that time of the year again...............
On Monday 14th October, 18 filled backpacks were collected for Mary's Meals. Thanks to all who supported this Parish charity.
Some pictures from this year's confirmation held on Friday 20th September.
Congratulations to the children who received their First Communion on the feast of Pentecost (9th June 2019).
That time of the year again, only 50 days till Christmas day, so a perfect chance to start your shopping.
Tomorrow is Trinity Sunday, mass is at 9am. Please come along and join us, we look forward to seeing you.
We read in today's extract from the Acts of the Apostles: "The apostles were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak foreign languages as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech." To reflect this, the Bidding Prayers assumed their now traditional multilingual format. As well as in English, each Bidding Prayer was read in a foreign language: Afrikaans, Italian, French, Russian, Swahili, Polish, Cantonese and Czech. Bidding prayers were on the following themes: For ...the leaders of the Church, that they might be filled with the Holy Spirit and speak to the world of God's love For peace and joy in the world, that the Holy Spirit might help us to overcome disharmony For those who have become luke-warm in their faith, that they be re-born in the Holy Spirit For the community, that we follow where the Holy Spirit leads For blessings on Fr Clement For blessings on the young people sitting exams For our own intentions A member of the children's liturgy group also wrote a prayer in thanks for the Holy Spirit and the ability to be like the apostles in spreading the Good News. It was a heart-warming and moving occasion that so many the congregation were willing and able to contribute to this very original format. After Mass, parishioners needed little encouragement to sample the delicious food on offer, examples of delicacies from all over the world.
