this was our second stay at the park. lots of space for the tents. if you don't want to rough it there are some lovely pods. the amenities are great and they even freeze your ice block things for the cooler. this time we stayed on the smaller field so the kids walked an extra few minutes to the play area but they did not mind. while there we heard pheasants, owls and various other bits of wildlife including the dreaded wood pigeons. just down the road is the downe arms which serves stunning food and a couple of miles the other way on the way to Scarborough is a fish and chip restaurant which is excellent. best fish and chips I have ever had.

I have no doubts that we will be there again very soon.

as much as I hate tents I do not mind camping at all on this site and would highly recommend it to others.

We've been here all winter and absolutely loved it.... it's so clean and tidy. The showers and toilets have piped in music and heated too. The cafe does a fab English cooked breakfast. All the staff are very friendly and always happy to help out. There are donkeys and alpacas on the grounds and there's plenty of walks from the site... including Wykham lakes. The Downe Arms is close by with great food and also the Wykham Tea Rooms. We've seen lots of wildlife while we've been here and looking forward to coming back in the winter... thanks do much to all the staff. Highly recommended..

User

We were total novices it was the first time in our first caravan. We had a couple of problems with our van and the staff here couldn't do enough to help. Really friendly people as were the other residents and lovely clean toilets. It has a great player ground and dog run. Will definitely be back next season.

User

We had a great 4 days on our seasonal pitch which we love.the site looking lovely! Roll on Fri back again .

User

This is a great family site with camping, seasonal and touring caravan pitches, and glamping pods. It has good facilities showers and toilets and a great cafe on site. There is a pub just 5 mins walk off site and plenty to do locally with Scarborough only 5 miles away. The site is run by great people that are happy to help with anything they can. This is without doubt the best run site around these parts, second to none.

User

Stayed for two nights in a camping pod. It’s was great! Toilet facilities lovely and clean. The campsite is great and nice and peaceful. Ideal location to Filey and Scarborough. The weather was lovely and hot so that was a bonus. Would defiantly come again

User

Really enjoying our time here. In our caravan for a week during kids school holiday. Little shop & cafe on site. Lovely big meadow to walk our dog who is loving every minute. Have also used the bus into Scarborough which stops right outside the caravan park. Pub a stroll away serving great food too. We will definitely return to this site.

User

Lovely site well looked after, pretty area, close to the coast too. Staff lovely ! Great free WiFi too. Stayed in the snow so was very different, good job shower block was heated, Radio 2 playing

User

Just spent two nights here with my daughter and friend and her 2 children (all 3 and under). We had a great time, stayed in one of the pods near the park. The kids loved the park and playing on the field. Staff are great helpful and friendly. The toilets and showers are very clean. Planning on going back next year. Would highly recommend it.

User

Just returned home from a 2 night stay here, it was absolutely fantastic!

It was our first time camping with our almost 2 year old and what a brilliant site it was to take him to. Extremely clean, friendly staff and very safe and secure. We stayed in a pod as we got a voucher from groupon, I would highly recommend a stay in one as they're warm and comfortable. I have already rang my parents and in laws recommending the site and we will definitely be back!

User

Just on way home from a two night glamping pod stay. My first experience of camping life and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great location, shower/toilet area spotlessly clean, reception staff very welcoming, very close to a lovely pub. What more could we want. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

User

Just got home from 8 nights here. What a fabulous site!.Very clean, tidy and well kept. Toilets and showers spotless-cleanest chemical toilet area I've ever used!! ;)

Lovely, happy friendly staff- we popped into the shop one evening for mushrooms for breakfast the next morning and they didn't have any (it was a bit late in the day!)-so the lady went to the shop the following morning and got us some! And even gave us some of her own bread too!

Didn't use the cafe but it was always busy, and the food looked great!

Would absolutely recommend this gem of a site!

User

Great site with everything you need.

User

Great place, very clean and great cafe for breakfast

User

Getting packed up to leave after two lovely days here with our 8 week old daughter staying in one of the dinky cabin pods. Pods are the equivalent of a heated wooden tent with lights & a plug socket, basic but suited our needs perfectly! No long walks to loos or water either which was helpful. Playground looks fun, although we didn't have time for a play ourselves. Little cafe & shop onsite came in handy, plus the local pub is only a 15 minute walk (although the track there is beautiful, it's extremely steep in places!). Will definitely come back when our daughter is older. It's a lovely, relaxed site. Only thing we'd suggest is when the new website is launched, having some photos of the inside of the pods & explaining exactly what's inside- we had to go to Tripadvisor for even the basic details such as to check whether they were heated or not as we couldn't find any details on the site pages. Thanks for a nice relaxing stay!

User

Brilliant can't fault it great staff everything so clean and tidy great prices

User

Visited over the new year period, very enjoyable four day break! Very wet weather some of the roads on site very muddy and ponding occurred, site not busy and facilities kept well, toilets in need of updating, more showers would also be an improvement! Only one shower in our block

User

We booked a super pitch here for 6 nights. When we arrived at reception were directed to our pitch overlooking the children's playground. Asked the man at recption which way round caravan should be facing, we were told "either way, it's your choice although most people prefer to be able to see their kids playing etc." As we have a 15 year old who won't use the playground we sited it looking opposite way. We set everything up, and after having a problem with the electric box someone came out to check it and told us we had it the wrong way round and we had to move it. We're new to caravanning so happy to accept if we'd made a mistake but we were pretty annoyed considering we had specifically asked!

As for the playground, where is the warden when kids are playing at 6.45am or 10.30 pm? I don't object to children playing during the day or evening but those times are ridiculous and should have been dealt with. We saw the site car driving around on an evening but clearly didn't say anything to those children.

Please do not advertise that you have site wide wifi when it is so appalling! It can take hours to connect and the signal keeps dropping every few minutes or so. There are long periods when it seems as if the wifi is switched off. We were not using it for streaming just general internet use but gave up as it was so bad. I am happy to pay for wifi that works rather than advertising free WiFi that doesn't.

Overall it's an okay site but more expensive than many we looked at that offered the same facilities. We would not return and would not recommend it to others.

After staying at the park again for a week, we were very dissapointed with one off the staffs attitude, we've been going to st Helen's for a good few years, sometimes twice a year and found it a lovely friendly park until last week. We pulled onto the site last Monday and was getting set up which takes a while as my partner has ill health, our new hose burst ,we had every intention off buying a new one the next day, but in the meantime my partner went to office to ask if they had a hose we could borrow , to be laughed at and told not to be lazy and get to b&q, I'm disgusted off the man's attitude in the office, all he had to say was sorry no we don't have one, totally different staff with different attitudes, not friendly like the last staff who would bend over backwards to help you, and always spoke to us, the staff now don't bother at all, safe to say don't think we will be back, especially with the man's attitude, think his name was cliff
