Great place to take a walk, have a coffee and relax. Colourful and picturesque. It is also a shortcut to access several landmarks.
After the crowds around Buckingham Palace St.James Park is like taking a deep breath and relaxing into the countryside. An amazing number of birds welcome you including geese, ducks, and herons. Lots of squirrel keep running around and fighting the birds for food. So I think there is some sense in the park admin's request for not feeding th animals. Obviously people do not follow this because most animals are not shy at all. I almost stepped on one squirrel.
Anyway, the park is beautiful with it's long strethced lake and old trees right in between of a number of must see sights. The perfect place to relax during a sight seing tour.
District and circle. Best station for the park.
ENJOY YOUR FREE MORNING, AFTERNOON OR EVENING THERE. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT
It was a really cold and windy day in month of May. But nothing stopped us from walking down the pathways and looking at the beautiful bird life and feeding the gorgeous squirrels. Gardens were slowly coming into bloom and blossoms starting to make there appearance for spring. Saw cyclists and loads of tourists.
Also HQ of London Underground, Grade I Listed, ostensibly London's first 'skyscraper.' Jacob Epstein's controversial "Night and Day" amongst the sculptures studding the exterior at differing elevations and some difficult to spot. The travertine-clad Art-Deco entrance foyer is worth a peek.
Small station, and we didn't need to wait.
You don't have to go 8 stories down to make a train here
Good facilities
My kids love squirrels the most.
Average station. So much potential to be more with Broadway building built in.
One of London's best parks. Lots of wildlife and great views of Buckingham palace and Whitehall.
