St John’s Hospice provides care, compassion and support for patients with life shortening illnesses from Grasmere to Garstang, from Sedbergh to Morecambe at home and in the hospice.
St John'S Hospice Description
St John's Hospice provides a range of services to both patients in the ward and those who just come in to have respite or support. The Oak Centre is a place where people can meet others coping with conditions and relax in the lounge with the friends they have made at the centre. Transport is provided to and from their homes and many patients find this a really useful tool in coping with their illness.
Our Hospice at Home service provides care to people who wish to stay at home to either retain their independence or who just want to be around family. Our specialist team provides expert care to these patients in order to ensure they are able to receive care in the place of their choice. This is a vital and growing service, with more and more patients requiring care in their own homes, and the service
cannot continue to grow unless we can raise further funding this year.

The Courtyard Cafe at St John's Hospice is looking for new volunteers! All proceeds from The Courtyard Cafe go to the hospice so that it can continue to care for patients, their families and carers in a time of need.
A big thank you to the fantastic Lancashire Constabulary Specials for their vigilant support at the 2019 St John's Hospice Moonlight Walk on Saturday. All our amazing walkers and runners got round the course and back to the hospice safely. 🤩
We have 2 fabulous prizes up for grabs for those of you that raise a minimum of £25 sponsorship at this year's Garstang and Kendal colour dashes. The lovely folk at The Lakeland Climbing Centre have given us a voucher for 2 places on the amazing Kendal CrazyClimb a super fun activity for any youngster. The St John's Hospice Lottery is a crucial income stream for the hospice. We are looking to grow our membership and have an exciting new role of 'Lottery Manager'. You will manage business development and be responsible for the day to day running of our in-house lottery and raffle. We are looking for an outgoing, personable and highly motivated individual who is methodical, has good attention to detail and passion to drive income.
