It's been 10 years and almost £21,000 raised for fundraising friends 'The Slapheads'.
All members of the Frecheville Community Sports and Social Club, the group started supporting St Luke's in 2008 when they shaved their heads in solidarity with friend Roger Hobson who had been diagnosed with cancer.
A decade on and with a host of fundraising activities behind them, the group have raised an amazing £20,800 for our care, most recently adding to the total by celebrating the 60t...h anniversary of the club with a charity cricket match.

Thank you so very much for looking after my mum kim stenton in her final weeks. Passed away peacefully today. The care is second to none, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The drinks and food are spot on and it felt more like a hotel than a hospital. I shall be sorting out some donations on a regular basis for everything you did for mum in her final days. Much love to all the staff there especially Natalie who did everything for mum. Xxx

User

Such a warm loving environment , it really puts a smile on my uncles face been there! All staff are lovely and the consultants are even better! Gives people a home feeling or even a holiday , as it doesn't look like a hospital , more like a hotel so it feel nice , safe and secure when patients are staying. Lots of things to do and the treatment options are great. A big thankyou

I'd personally like to thank each and everyone of the amazing staff for the great care they provided my Grandad ( 'Mike' - George Martin). The care and love he got from everyone just was out of this world and whilst I'm sad he was in a situation where he needed to stay in the hospice, I couldn't of wished for his last days to of been spent anywhere else!! Thank you, Daniel

User

I would like to say an enormous thank you to st lukes hospice for looking after my mum in her final days.

The place, all the staff, are absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately we had to say bye to mum at 2 am this morning.

There is nothing I could do to show my appreciation to everyone involved in the hospice. They looked after my mum like a queen and also looked after all of us.

So once again, thank you st lukes you are all truly amazing people x

User

I would just like to thank all the staff at St Luke's for the excellent, kind care they are giving my mother Betty Newman.I would also like to thank you for the support you have given me.

Big thanks to all the staff who cared and carried for my mum Sandra Maureen Poxon who passed away on 14/04/2016 .

What an amazing group of people, nothing is ever to much trouble for them to help you out with all your needs ,Thank you all again.

User

An absolutely amazing place. My sister refers to it as a hotel. ALL the staff from consultants to the cleaners are friendly and helpful. They have time for not only the person they are caring for but the family too. Hospitals in Sheffield are all good but only St Lukes joined the dots. Pulled it together and approached it holistically. The food, the care the relaxed atmosphere is truly wonderful. I even took my dogs in. Friendly, caring, helpful, welcoming. If only all care was at this level. Fabulous.

User

All the team from housekeeping, waitresses, nurses, doctors and I may have missed someone so sorry if I have are amazing caring for individuals with dignity and compassion in their final days as well as you would care for your loved ones. How often is it a nurse says to you ‘it was a privilege to look after your brother’. Words don’t express how high I regard all these people. We need to support them financially, recent government cuts in spending have hit them hard and we need places like this for our loved ones to go!!
