Sharing the Church of England Faith, we are located on the edge of Bowers Gifford Marshes on the outskirts of Basildon and Pitsea in Essex. The church is a historic Grade 2(Star) listed building with English Heritage and dates back to Saxon times, it is recorded in the Domesday Book and is a rare example of a working Marsh located church. St. Margaret's is a parish full of friendly, loving people who dedicate much of their free time to the Christian faith and to the challenging upkeep of the church and its grounds, with regular volunteer work-parties tackling the ever growing grass and the weathering masonry. The church is fully operational with services running every Sunday starting at 9: 00am and is available for weddings, baptisms and funerals for information about arranging a service or ceremony see our contact information on the church website.
