Our Montessori nursery puts the child at the heart of the learning and our child centred approach continues into the preparatory school, with a very large number of specialist professionals working in the school, to provide a rich array of extra-curricular opportunities. We also have a strong track record on supporting children with a diverse range of educational needs, including those for whom English is a second language.

When you visit St. Nicholas, you will notice the warm, friendly, vibrant atmosphere, and be able to meet our enthusiastic and well qualified staff and get a sense of this family orientated, multi-cultural and multi-faith school. It is no coincidence that the school motto is “Be happy in order to learn”.

Of course we make the most of our location, enjoying regular trips to Hyde Park, the Albert Hall, Imperial College to name a few and we take part in many other culturally stimulating events.

Our excellent staff pupil ratio and small class sizes mean we can meet individual needs and that all children can make great progress in their studies. Strong support from parents both at home and more formally through the parents’ association, known as the Friends, makes this a really thriving community.

Pupils from St. Nicholas have gone on to gain places at a range of leading 11 + schools.

We are unusual in London in that we offer, alongside an English Prep School education, an opportunity to prepare children for transfer at any age to the French education system. Our CNED programme from Y1-Y6 runs alongside the main curriculum and is taught by specialist trained French nationals.
