We’d also like to thank the organisations and individuals who have supported Tour de Bristol today and made it happen. We couldn’t do it without the generous sponsorship of Total Produce, the three feed stations provided by Rapid Relief Team UK and our volunteers both at UWE and out on the course. Thank you so much to all of you for supporting the Hospice today 💙💙

User

Fantastic to welcome Nick Fenton-Wells of Bristol Bears Rugby back to the Hospice yesterday. Nick donated a signed rugby ball to Serena, one of our nurses to contribute to her fundraising efforts for our China Challenge trek in October. https://www.stpetershospice.org.uk/suppor t…/china-challenge/

“There are some things I just can’t do as a result of my illness,” says James. “Debbie comes every Wednesday evening to help out at home. This can be from hoovering to cooking and changing the bed. Her visit makes such a difference to me and helps me manage in my own home. She is nothing short of an angel.”

We would like to thank St Peter's Hospice for there at home care they provided for our late mum Christine Day. The nurses that came out to help care for our mum were just fantastic. We got help that we didn't even know existed and it took a huge amount of stress away knowing mum was being looked after by a caring professional as well as us. We really can't thank you lovely ladies enough for all your help in mum's final weeks. She is now at peace and no longer suffering xx

The review I wrote before was really negative although I did say the staff were nice. Since I wrote it I have been contacted by the hospice who listened & eased the fears I had for my dad. So I would now like to apologise for jumping to the wrong conclusions the only excuse I have is when you are losing a loved one it is not always easy to think clearly so thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care you are giving to my dad

User

The hospice is an incredible place. All the staff are wonderful. They were there to support not only my dad through the final stages of he life but us as family, nothing was ever to much for anyone. The Horton family aka "Horts hunnies" cant thank the hospice for how thwy helped and supported us through the worst time of our lifes! Horts hunnies are now trying to raise as much money as possible to suport others. Thank you again. X x X

Thankyou for caring for my husband Royston Smith in his last few days of his life. The most caring understanding people on this earth will never forget the support to me and my family too.

User

Thank you very much for the care and comfort you gave to my brother and for allowing family to grief and just be there for my brother on his Journey to heaven

User

Thank you so much to St Peter's Hospice for the care & support you provided for my Dad (Graham Caldwell)

His stay with you was brief, less than 24hrs! However that was testament to the fact you provided such a safe & caring environment. He felt he could let go.

A special thank you to Collette who visited Dad at home for many weeks. Without her intervention back in May, I do believe he would've died and wouldn't have been able

to have an extra few months to enjoy life a little more comfortably.

A big heart felt thank you from my Sister and I for the support you have also provided us with

St. Peter's looked after my mum in the final weeks of her life. The staff made her comfortable, treated her with respect and made us feel welcome. Everyone at the hospice was fantastic, the Nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, volunteers and even office staff. It's a lovely environment for everyone, with beautiful gardens and rooms that patients can use for a change of scenery. They work very hard to ensure everything is just right and to make patients experience as pleasant as possible.

St. Peter's Hospice cared for my dad before he passed away from prostate cancer last year. The care he received was excellent. He deteriorated quite rapidly in the last two days but he was adamant that he didn't want to go into a hospital so they arranged for a hospital bed to be delivered to the house (on a Sunday!) and also for a nurse to be there around the clock to provide the level of care that he needed to keep him comfortable and also to provide support for my family. The two nurses that came were wonderful and genuinely seemed to care which I think is far too rare these days. I will always be grateful for the help and support we received in my dads final hours xx

User

Relaxing and peaceful building & grounds, but the staff are the heartbeat. Put simply, they are angels in uniform. I will be forever in their debt for the way the cared for my Dad.

My sister died at the tender age of 29, 10 years ago on 21.04.2014. The family will never forget the support and compassion that the staff at St.Peter's Hospice showed. Through their at home care service they enabled Rebecca to die peacefully in her own home which was her wish, whilst being supported and cared for to a high standard. We will never forget what the hospice did for us, or underestimate how such services are vital in a community. We try and give back when we can. My husband and I are walking Snowdon on the 10th anniversary this year and so far we have raised £1,400+ for St.Peter's. Feeling proud to be able to give something back to such an amazing charity. User

My mum stayed here for 2 weeks. Where she was pampered whilst they sorted her pain relief. Sadly mum lost her battle on the 18 November 2015 at home with all her family around her. The staff was kind and caring and nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou very much to all those staff who cared for her. You are all truly AMAZING ❤❤❤

User

Martin one of the community nurse specialist from St Peter's hospice supported my husband at home.

My husband Sam was always treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity during the visits and always given helpful advice and explanations about his condition.

After Sam passed away at home I was invited for support for myself and our children.

We were lucky enough to receive music therapy which gave us the space and platform to talk and express our feelings at such a difficult time.

Thank you

Many people have the pre-conceived and incorrect idea that hospices are all doom and gloom whereas, this couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, some of the people staying at the hospice are gravely ill and some of them will pass away whilst staying BUT, the staff are friendly, bubbly, have a great sense of fun which is equally balanced with care, compassion and dignity. Arguably one of the hardest jobs within the caring profession but so rewarding at the same time. What better feeling can there be at the end of the day, going home knowing that you've made somebody smile, somebody who is preparing to say goodbye to their friends and family and leaving for the next life? RESPECT to ALL staff who work in an oncology/palliative environment <3

User

Mama was there for 2 weeks or 3 weeks, she had such a good care! The nurses treated her so well mama is in a better place, and all the nurses made sure she wasn't in any sort of pain! Thank you all for everything

User

Just an incredible place who do so much without batting an eyelid. The staff and volunteers offer so much that have kept my mum going and I know she loved visiting but now it's time for her to see u at home which has been no trouble for the hospice to organise which again just shows they will do anything for their patients. Please keep supporting this amazing charity xXx

User

I can't thank St Peter's hospice enough for looking after my Beautiful Brave Mum with such care and dignity , my Mum ( Brenda) was admitted to the hospice from the hospital on Saturday 6 th May and she was there until Thursday 18th May when she sadly lost her long hard fight from Ovarian Cancer . They allowed Myself, Father and Sister to be with her until the very end allowing us to sleep by her side and nothing was too much trouble . We found them absolutely amazing and I know my Mum felt safe in their care which was so Important to all of us . We as a family can't thank them enough . xxx

User
