Took my family today and the service was first class and food was amazing it covered meat and non meat eaters brilliantly first class

There were seven of us for a meal last night and it was all absolutely beautifully cooked and presented. Never fails to impress me every time we go, from the bar staff to the catering - will definitely be going back again

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a table last minute, Saturday night. The food was delicious, Mussels and Fishcakes for starters, we both had a rump steak, couldn't eat all the chips! But we did manage the homemade onion rings, nice bottle of Pinot Noir...... Highly recommend, we will be back... Thank-you to all the staff..

Me and the wife have 3 times had something different every time from sunday roast to steak all fantastic and as for the desserts yummy as well. Serve a good pint and good glass of wine. Will be back as it is a relaxed place and the staff know all the items on the menu, Keep up the good work probable best place in pocklington..

I went here last night with two other friends and was impressed with the place. Beautifully decorated with a homely feel. I had the burger & chips which were spot on, the burger being one of the best ive had in a while. I would have liked a choice of chunky chips not skinny but this is just personal preference and me just being picky. The other two girls really enjoyed their meal too and looked very appetising. Fab selection of beers and spirits behind the bar and a fantastic guy serving (sorry cant remember his name) who chatted away to me while waiting alone for my friends. I will definitely be back.

I have eaten at Stamfords Restaurant on three occasions so far and will definitely be going back again, the Sunday lunch menu started on Mother's Day and was very nice indeed, Muscles as a starter are always a favourite and the stakes were cooked just how I like them. very reasonably priced, and the staff are always cheerful helpful and friendly thank you.

Had a fantastic meal here last Saturday night. Some lovely new options on the menu. I had a delicious steak cooked to perfection with a beautiful bottle of red. The staff were polite and friendly. Couldn't have asked for anymore. I would recommend to anybody.

Food was very good and efficiently served. Fries with bacon & cheese were to die for. Like the service, attentive but not fussy. A little gem in a rather pleading and friendly town.

Excellent meal and service. Would highly recommend the salt and pepper squid for starters, the steaks and the lamb rump main course and any pudding !! The cod and pasta dishes were also very good, but the others slightly better.

Was expecting better quality of food for the price if I am honest. Three of the eight main courses had to be sent back as they were either under cooked or cold. Staff were helpful and apologetic however I feel that basics should be the norm.

Food was delicious but they'd already run out of my favourite desserts and service not great - usually good but disappointing tonight!

Menu out of date on website a friend had decided on her choice before the night no longer available and was all she fancied. Told only 3 t-bones left so 3 of party ordered, one came out cold went back to the kitchen and when came back was told it was a new steak how could this be when there were only 3 left?? Shame when we were all looking forward.

I ordered the Stamford’s burger, without a bun. When I got my meal I thought the burger was a bit too pink for my liking, I turned it over to find it completely Raw! I pointed it out to the waiter who said “okay I’ll let the chef know” and then returned with my bill and the burger on it. Don’t recommend! Will never return!
