Ivy and Rosa took our free table last night with Sophie as it’s been a while since they’d eaten daddy’s food. Here is their review, taken just before they fell in to a food coma... 🤗🍽👭

We have one table left for tomorrow night at 7pm. It’s usually reserved for fours but to fill the table we’re happy for it to just be for two 😊. When booking online at https://www.resdiary.com/restaurant/stark book it as a four and just make sure you tell me in the “special requests” box that it’s only for two so you’re not charged for the other seats!

As some of you may know, we planned to close for October but we've recently decided to open between 5th and 13th as we had so many enquiries! So just to let you all know, we now have limited tables available on the following dates: Friday 5th, Saturday 6th, Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th.

We had Soph’s brother and sister in law visiting last night all the way from Mersea Island, Essex. What a lovely treat for us to have our family in and what a handsome family they are hey 😉😜

We went for our Christmas work meal and were blown away by how amazing the food was! All 6 of our courses were delicious and we couldn’t have wished for more. The restaurant atmosphere was relaxed and intimate and we felt we could take our time enjoying ourselves. The service was impeccable (thankyou Sophie ;)) and we felt right at home! We can’t wait to visit Sophie and Ben again and eat at Stark again!xxx

We spent a fabulous evening at Stark on Saturday 28th January. We were so totally impressed with the whole package. The restaurant is superbly decorated, intimate and comfortable.

Sophie and Ben are very friendly and made us feel completely welcome.

Last but certainly not least the food was so yummy. Six excellent courses we both loved each one. Ben you are one clever chef!



I would throughly recommend Stark and will definitely be going back.

We celebrated my 50th birthday here and OMG! What an absolute pleasure. Best food we have eaten in a long time and although I'm normally not that adventurous, every dish was a gem. We will be back. Thanks for the friendly service. It has made this a truly memorable meal.

We came from Essex to Stark for our Christmas works outing and we were completely blown away! The six courses were outstanding, the service was amazing and the friendly atmosphere created by the lovely Sophie and Ben made the whole evening just perfect. We will definitely be going back �

The food, the flavours, the setting, and the service! Everything about our dinner last night was five-star and one of the best foodie experiences we've had! The only bad thing is that I can't get another reservation for the next two months... ;) Bad for us, but wonderful for this family-run business - and SO deserved too!



PS Please do some more STARK pop-ups so we can get our fix whilst waiting for a reservation to open up ;)

Our third dinner here now and every visit has been an utter treat. Such friendly service from Sophie and amazing food by Ben. Wonderful to see how well the restaurant is doing, we’ll be back again soon!

Lovely cosy ambience. Small but very qualitative. Food was prepared and presented well and tasted devine. We enjoyed the menu and paired wines and would recommend this to others.. Richard and Heidi x

It's an amazing place to eat what will almost certainly be a Michelin Star restaurant on our doorstep. Food was fantastic and wine pairings perfect. Sophie and Ben are very accomplished and friendly.

It has been my pleasure and privilege to dine in good restaurants around the world and it is such a joy to find a restaurant as good as this close to home. It is not "fine dining" as such but it is very good food, well thought out, precisely cooked and smartly presented. It is tiny, 12 covers, but go squeeze yourself in to enjoy a wonderful culinary experience, and go soon because once word gets out you will need to book weeks in advance. Ben and Sophie present a friendly food experience which you have great difficulty matching anywhere in East Kent. Just go and enjoy yourself.

I've been to a few restaurants and must say, had amazing times in many, but this one ranks top in my list of favourite restaurants.



It only holds twelve people which makes this place intimate. From the off you're greeted and feel welcome from the start. From then on, the night gets better and better. Food is simply amazing. Service is top draw.



I have to go back here again. This is a must for anyone who loves food. Simply brilliant.

I heard all the positive reviews and knew that I had to come here. My expectations were high and I am pleased to say they were met. I felt a little apprehensive that the menu was set but now in hindsight I would trust Ben`s choices without hesitation. With the first mouthful of the first dish put in front of me, I knew that my evening of dining was going to be a positive one.

Having read about Stark in the good food guide I booked a table for my Mums birthday. WOW!! Being a fussy eater there wasn’t anything I would normally choose on the tasting menu. But I went for it. And soooo glad I did. Every single dish was phenomenal. Best food I have ever had. Such an amazing restaurant. Brilliant cosy atmosphere. Will be booking again for sure. Been raving about it to everyone ever since I left my seat!! Well done Stark ���

Different menu every time. Beautiful presentation. Wonderful to eat, lots of elements to enjoy, colour, texture and most importantly taste. Front of house friendly and efficient. Wine pairings work really well. All in all a great experience.

All we can say is Wow!!! Incredible food, amazing chat and fantastic front row seats. Definitely recommend the new bar stools. Loved every minute of our STARK experience thanks to Ben & Sophie. Hope to be back soon, Barns & Kate.

After hearing only good things about Stark, my partner and I walked in expecting, obviously, good things. Instead...what we got was waaaay beyond that! It was one of the most delicious and exciting meals either of us had ever eaten. Ben, the chef, combines decent quality food with unexpected flavours- which compliment eachother perfectly! The restaurant is beautifully set up and very cosy. Sophie serves the food and announces what you are about to eat which is a great touch. Ben is an incredible chef and we cannot wait to return! Well done Stark!

A unique and intimate dinning experience! Sophie & Ben have have put heart and soul into getting the restaurant up and running and the passion and commitment are there on the plate. Great meal, fantastic pairing wines, they deserve every success and we should be grateful that this gem is on our doorstep.

A great evening spent for our anniversary .. exceptional food ! A great menu incredible tastes and textures and accompanying wine ! Clearly a great chef x
