Staunton And Corse Early Years

We are a committee run charity, based within the grounds of Staunton and Corse Academy. We follow EYFS and focus on children learning through play.

Staunton and Corse Early Years sessions are Ofsted registered and run by qualified Early Years practitioners. We are a community based setting, situated within the local primary school. We have access to all the schools facilities and have our own outdoor area. This includes a water wall, messy play, sensory herb garden, quiet area etc. In the meadow area we are developing our forest play with a mud kitchen and weaving wigwams. This is used on a regular basis, whatever the weather with the children supplied with our waterproofs and wellies. This enables the children to have independent learning and an understanding of their immediate environment.
Inside, we have our own classroom, with an integrated kitchen, which enables us to cook on a regular basis and provide a variety of snacks.
Termly planning is organised to follow the children's interests and needs, often using an adult provocation. Staff support and resource children's activities and learning operating a key child system. Enabling excellent individual awareness of children's strengths and needs. Trips are planned often to support and extend the children's learning.
The children have a termly diary which includes lots of photographs of their play throughout your child's time with us.
As a setting we work closely with the school, especially the reception class, often having shared days. This allows the children to get used to the classroom, teachers and routine. This allows a smoother transition to school when the time arrives.
We have a story sack library system available for all children to access and take home.
The school provides both breakfast and after school club which is available to preschool children if the require it.
We are a team of three members of qualified staff who work closely with parents and carers, providing an informative, friendly and supportive environment. We attend training regularly and keep up to date with government regulations.

Early Years sessions (for children aged 2yrs and older):
Mon - Fri 8. 45am - 3pm
