Wonderful food (the Jäger Schnitzel) was superb), lovely beer (weissbier) and attentive service. Definitely one of the great bars of Derby. Even the napkins give it a German feel. Would definitely pop back again

What an amazing little bar, staff are so friendly the Wednesday night bandeoke brings such a good atmosphere and the open mic on Sundays is a great way to finish off the day.

Went last night with friends and had an absolute blast! The band are great and their choice of music had us all rocking out. The food is very good and the service spot on. We will be back!

It may have taken a little longer than hoped to open, and there may be a few tweaks needed to be made and finishing touches added, but for a grand opening on Friday, you guys smashed it. The beer was excellent, the food (even though I only sampled the pizza which was amazing might I add) looked really good quality, and the all round running of the night by the staff there was spot on. Everybody was looked after, entertained by their oompah oompah band and general vibe from the huge number that turned up to sample the new place to the strip. Derby needed something different, and this has hit the nail on the head. Well done guys ✌🏻️

Four of us used a Groupon deal for our visit. We all dressed in Bavarian costumes and were really looking forward to our night out. We were not disappointed, in fact our expectations were exceeded! Food and beers were excellent and the ompah band were amazing, very entertaining, even playing ompah versions of Highway to Hell and Livin' on a Prayer that we rocked out to! We are definitely coming back and bringing more friends!

Food 5 star authentic & very good star

Beer 6 star loads of authentic varieties tried as many as possible lol

Best night out in costume in ages

First time yesterday in this bar, loved it. Very friendly and a very good looking guy who i think has some ownership on it? Shall be returning saturday the 31st march for 90s music x

Came here Sunday to watch England play. Was a great atmosphere, had a 4 person German feast platter which could have easily fed more. Cocktail steiners were delicious will be returning Thursday for next England match.

Atmosphere is always amazing. Huge variety of food and drinks, friendly staff. Be seeing you!

I was looking forward to this place. However it ended up being not that good. First up they had no schweinshaxe..or some other signature menu items. Apparently they only get 10 a week and they have all gone my Wednesday...duh! The band was awful, or at least the singer..i thought he was wretching not singing by the sound of it.. so loud as well. Beer selection good and weissenbier excellent. I guess the place is geared up for a student vomitfest at the weekend but if it wants to tick over on profitable food and beer sales midweek a different approach will be necessary.

Had a meal here about 3 weeks ago it was really nice we had a strass dog it had a lot of chips and salad with it . Last night we decided to come back and have another meal unfortunately this time I was not impressed the there was hardly any chips and no salad at all and the roll was soggy can’t believe it was so different. Very disappointing

Great friendly staff, we had a voucher for four, sharing platter including 4 bears.Was good but No potatoes available on the platter and an alternative was offered(small portion of fries) not really enough for one but the food was good quality and hot but I would have been disappointed if I had payed the nearly £40 price bracket without the beer. especialy as it was to feed two young kids and two parents. Would I return possibly for the beer and band , but as the portion sizes were quit small on the sharing dishes ,maybe not for the food.

Decor is very nice, all fits to the theme and I can see how this will be a good venue for weekend drinks when town is busier. Food wasn't good at all: chips were cold and for what you pay they're tiny portions. Obviously the staff are all new to this so plenty of training is needed as nobody knew what beers we were asking for and couldn't split a bill between a few of us on our table. Once the kinks are worked out, hopefully it will be a better experience next time!

We were looking forward to visiting. Beer wasn't cheap but good selection. We orders the sharing platter that was £10 per person. Food arrived in a reasonable time but certain items were missing i.e. the pork knuckle, only 4 of the hash brown type items between 5, only 4 meatballs between 5 etc and portions very small of everything else. Seemed like only 4 people's worth of food. When we questioned where the pork knuckle was, we were told they had run out. That was ok but no one had bothered telling us this or even initially offered replacement items. It was only after we where is the food we had paid for that an offer was made to give us some more meatballs and noodles. The band weren't as good as other oompah bands I've seen, both in this country and in Germany. They seemed to mainly be playing english songs. I hope Stein Strasse can get their act together and stop cheating customers our of items they have paid for as I'd like to return one day.

This was our first trip to the bar when we booked we were told it was a busy time and could we book an earlier slot, this was fine but when we got there there was no one else in and only one more couple arrived during our stay!! There was limited drinks bye to a busy night before. The food wasn’t really warm enough and the sharing platter was hard to decifer what was what. One of our party order the basic sausage but on arrival it came with no roll when asked why we were told they didn’t have the small cobs for that dish!! They eventually bought one out half way through the meal. The staff were lovely but rather blase when we had to ask why things weren’t available. The drink prices are extortionate!!!
