This is a great way to get to Europe, the service for taking your car and on board facilities is so good and enjoyable, recommended by us as regular customers.

User

One of our party was taken ill while in Holland and was unable to walk. The lady at the check in was really helpful and organised a wheel chair for us and got us a parking space next to the lift. Another crew member pushed the wheel chair all the way to our cabin. Getting off, all I had to do was ask customer services for the wheel chair and it was there. Really impressive service and I cannot praise them enough for the care they provided. Thankyou Stena.

My maiden voyage on a fantastic ship... Well maintained, well staffed, excellent cabins, quite a pleasure. From the reception folks in Harwick to the food stuarts in the dining facility, to the disembark directors in Holland, everyone was pleasant, helpful and well trained. Very easy to make your reservation online. Would recommend to all...

User

Love the ferry to Holland, have been doing this trip since the 70s, boats these days are luxury liners compared to the cattle class transport back then. Reliable service, friendly helpful staff and clean comfortable cabins and public areas...Keep it up Stenna peeps 👍

User

Love Stenaline, from my house to Harwich take me 25 min and on the other side, Hook of Holland it is 25 min to my sister, so yes would be fantastic to win thisy

User

I’ve used this ferry service to the Nethrerlands three times in the past and have always had a great trip. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and tidy while the restaurant staff are polite and the food quality has always been very good. It’s a great service and reasonably priced and I always have a smile on my face when the tannoy system starts playing “Don’t worry, be happy” first thing in the morning to wake you up before docking at The Hook of Holland.

User

Had a fantastic first crossing with Stenaline from Harwich to Hoek van H. Very relaxed, friendly staff, great boat, we were very impressed. Loved the fact that we could go and visit our doggy in the kennel as often as we wanted, also that the kennel is on a video channel in the cabin. All in all an excellent service :-)

User

Dear Stenaline,

I would like to Thank your team/crew that were sailing on my visit. Sadly my Grandmother had past away unexpectedly and we needed to get to Belgium for the Funeral. Having not used your services before I booked everything I thought we would need to make the journey as comfortable for me and my mum. We went to the customer service desk and were greeted by the lovely Roger who very kindly explained what was available on the Ferry and where we could sit/eat etc. as I had booked lunch. Mum went and did a bit of shopping for a gift for my Aunty and was served by Stephen. We went to lunch and the team that served us were very good and the food was delicious. We booked the Cinema with Kim also a lovely lady and I realised I had booked the lounge but then didn't have time to use it .. not matter the journey over was pleasant and helped our frame of minds as to what we had to face. Following the Funeral on Thursday we made our way back to the ferry for our night return. Not realising we could have come earlier but again no matter. We went to say hello to Roger, Kim and Stephen and they all remember us and why we were travelling, all asking if it went as well as could be. We then went for dinner and Harriet served us .. yet another lovely member of your Crew. Your crew showed me and mum such compassion and were so friendly and helpful I would like you to recognise these individuals as they are a credit to you. I wouldn't hesitate to use your services again .. all though a little costly perhaps next time with more time it may not cost so much. Please pass on my thanks to the crew for looking after us so well under these difficult times for us.

Cabin was clean, quiet and very comfortable- breakfast was a bit of a let down - hot food, just warm!!

But I would definitely use Stena Lines again, such friendly staff and great service

Travelled from Harwich to Holland on Sunday

User

A very simple, inexpensive, easy and effective way to travel across the channel. Lovely big shop and a smooth crossing. Easy embarking with my car although the disembarking could be better signposted especially as it was dark. All the cars just followed each other after passport control up to a gate which didn’t open. We then realised that it was never going to open because we’d all driven to the wrong place.

User

Only criticism is breakfast. Bit pricey and not up to standard of meal in restaurant the night before. Apart from that everything else was perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very pleasant first experience of this boat

User

I have mobility problems, but can use a normal cabin, the staff have been very helpful on the trips in 2016 & 2017, looking forward to travelling with you in September..on my way to and from Sweden.. so I have the dash to Kiel after or from on my return.. detractors be settled with my family over there..

User

The rooms are pretty good compared to other providers, and the facilities on board are okay, although there isn't many if them. The DFDS service for example, has 3 times as many bars, restaurants, children's entertainment etc. We crossed on 28/3/18 overnight, on a free crossing we won in a competition. I am not ungrateful in the slightest and am basing the review on any paying customer. £414 would have been the asking price and that is a bit steep.

The worse part about our crossing was the amount of time spent queuing to board. You are advised that boarding starts at arpund 2030, when in fact check in opens at 2000, and we didn't board until nearly 2145. I hate to think how many people were sat there with screaming children because we had been given inaccurate information.

Once we finally boarded and found our room it was so late we went straight to bed, woke up in the morning, and queued for another 2 hours to go through passport control, as somehow it is acceptable to split the cars into 4 lanes of traffic, to then bottle neck into just 2 passport desks.

Ferry is ok, clean, but not as good as others.

Price is a bit OTT but we were grateful for our prize and free crossing this time.

Boarding and disembarking is a shambles and needs sorting. It's ridiculous how long people have to sit and wait. (DFDS actually has the boat ready to board pretty much when check in opens, so there is a steady flow of traffic, instead of a massive queue of impatient drivers trying to push in)

Not the worst crossing we have had, but work to be done to make it decent and worth the money

User

The ferry is very good, but quite expensive. The plus lounge has gone down hill a bit. Mostly from a management perspective, the staff are always pretty friendly apart from the old guy that works on the bar with the slick back grey hair, he is very obnoxious and rude.

User

Hi Stena I catch the freighter and going to Holland is fine but on returning been a truck driver we need a full nine hours off on the ferry but sometimes we only get 8.45hrs and this Is a problem as when we don't get a 9 hour break on the ferry we must then make it an 11 plus the movement time so we loose 2 hrs of the day. I know it comes in early for the market's but for the sake of 15mins I don't think it would make much difference. So could you please ask the captain to slow up a knot. As for the crew and the food it is really good. Thanks

User

On board it's fine but boarding from Harwich as a cycle tourist was very frustrating. Me and four other cyclists were made to wait in no shelter as motor vehicles were let on first. This doesnt make any sense and some Dutch motorists were very confused as to why we were being held back. Please review this process, it's bonkers.

User

Comfort class cabins on the ferry are good however cannot say the same about the restaurant.

“Freshly prepared lasagne” = frozen lasagne tipped onto a plate, boiled in a microwave for 5 mins served with one over heated piece of chewy garlic bread. If I was eating the garlic bread with my eyes shut I would not have known what I was eating!!

Galling to have to pay €10 for this “food” when I have spent the last week travelling through Germany eating far better food at better class restaurants for less.

To cap it all we were also overcharged.

Come on Stena Line, your customers deserve better than this.

Trip was plesant enough but got badly stung for mobile data charges almost 200 quid come on stenna how’s about making it an opt in service instead of an on by default one or at least making it more prominent I can’t afford 200 quid for nothing a bit more warning and publicity about turning of data roaming while at sea would have made a huge difrence hows about printing it on your tickets and travel docs at the very least ???

Me and my family(we are Indian...mind you I am mentioning this since I got insulted being an Indian) boarded the cruise yesterday on 22 May 2018 at around 22:30 from Harwich. Our bus got late so everyone in the bus was so hungry we directly went for the dinner...When we reached the dining place we found there was these divisions made between two sectors of the same dining place...strange right???...my dad was so hungry he didnt notice them and sat in some table on the other side of the belt...there was this asian guy on floor(the worst waiter I have ever seen)... suddenly asked my dad to leave the table and take some other table on the other side of the belt...when my dad refused he kept on insisting till my dad lost his temper...when I asked the asian guy whats the problem he replied “ one side of the Indian and the other side of the belt is for non-Indians”...why this racism at this generation... and how do you know m Indian....I may be Bangladeshi or Pakistani...Is it because of my brown skin we are differentiated???...I am tourist to your country...it doesnt matter if I am Indian or American or Chinese...Stenaline should respect all the tourists...this experience was disgusting
