Proudly sharing one of the visuals of our shortlisted entry for the Belfrey Church competition. A centralised concept with a 'halo' element allowing the simple division of the interior with curtains. The 'halo' discretely hides all the service elements, lighting and AV, keeping the historic interior clean and visually ‘tech free’ whilst the curtains also ‘purifies’ the busy interior in a veil like manner. We didn’t get the 🍒 , but we ate all the 🍰. A very enjoyable experience... for us all & lots learned. We hope we contributed as much, if not more, than we’ve taken away. Kombuis/Kitchen Restaurant, by STEYN studio as design architects in collaboration with TV3 Architects and Town Planners as executive architects, completed a couple of years ago, is being featured on Archilovers !! This project received an Award of Merit from the South African Institute for Architects last year. Lucie De Moyencourt and Chandler House did the spectacular Blue-Delft inspired 'Tree of Life' gable mural and Liam Mooney did a fine job on the interior. The food is mouthwatering! THE HAPPY FACES OF ALL THE SAIA AWARD WINNERS!!! I am honored to have been included within this group of winners for our award win for Bosjes. This wasn't only a special award as it was in my home country, but also as it was the first time that the Bosjes project was awarded as a whole, which include its well known Chapel, the restaurant (Kombuis), both done by us in collaboration with TV3, as well as the Manor House and Skuur Guest House by TV3 with Interior Design by Liam Mooney Studio.
