lovely staff , great menu and perfect situation for watching the world go by

User

Without a doubt the best coffee ☕️ for miles .

Amazing service and the cheese scones are incredible

Love ❤️ this place

User

What a fantastic tea room would recommend especially for gluten free foods . Staff lovrey ,food excellent . Go take s visit and you will want to return.,

User

Went yesterday for Afternoon tea. Fantastic service, excellent food and to make it even better the Gluten free version was delicious.

Absolutely recommend the Gluten free Scones to die for as was the cake.

Thank you.

User

We visited today after a long walk in the woods. It was really busy. Inside is quite small and was really warm today. As there were tables outside we sat there with our two dogs.

We ordered scones and coffee and a milkshake for my son. Coffees came quickly and scones were a little delayed. I put this down to being really busy. While we were enjoying our delicious scones our son asked for their teddy bears picnic.. it took a long time to come out but was really worth the wait. We were all quite happy watching the world go by outside and our scones that were massive!!

We loved all the food and the traditional touches. Service was really friendly just a little

slow today. I totally respect at busy times you can get snowed under but it’s a compliment really to how popular the tea rooms are, and as I said well worth the wait.

Would really recommend x

User

We visited on Sunday at 14.00. The whole experience was lovely! I had never been before but a friend recommended you. I am coeliac and I have to say I was catered for very well. I had the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and rhubarb scone, both Gluten free. My husband had the Brie and bacon on granary with a Rubard scone (non gluten free) he said it was amazing. My son had a bacon sandwich and a strawberry milkshake which he really enjoyed. The staff were really busy but made time to chat and make us feel very welcome. All in all a lovely place to visit and catering for My dietary requirements was brilliant. We will be back very soon. Thank you 😊

User

We took my nan here yesterday for her 80th birthday, there was 11 of us. The staff were amazing at accommodating us all, let us decorate the table, were very patient, the sandwiches/cakes/scones were amazing and the service could not of been faulted for such a busy little tea room. Thanks so much for helping to make my nan 80th birthday special. Happy Christmas Steyning Tea Rooms Highly Recommended!

User

We really enjoyed our lunch here, the food was scrumptious. Loved the miss-matched china & the general decor of the place but what made it so agreeable was the staff, so friendly & welcoming. They fussed over our dog & made us all feel at home.

User

We love the tea rooms. The gluten free scones are the best. X

User

We had the most delicious Welsh Rarebit, followed by the famous Rhubarbs scones!! Food is always tasty, service great. Lovely tea room xx

User

We had a beautiful afternoon cream tea. So worth the money as the portions where very large and delicious. Really friendly helpful staff too. Will definitely recommend and return

User

We booked for a table of 6 on a very busy Sunday afternoon. We all had an afternoon tea, which was brought out very quickly. The rhubarb scones were still warm and absolutely delicious along with the rhubarb jam. The staff were lovely and very happy to provide take out boxes for the huge portions! We all agreed it was one of the best cream teas we've had- can't wait to go back.

User

Visited you today, perfect food and service, highly recommended! Best gluten free food I have ever had. Will be back for sure. Xx

User

Visited today with friends from the US for afternoon tea, which was fantastic! Sandwiches, a huge scone, slice of cake and tea for a very reasonable price. They were also very accommodating with any gluten-free requests. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming, making it a very lovely experience. I will definitely be returning again soon.

User

Visited on Sunday. They were so busy but never stopped smiling or working. Food was amazing. I will definitely go again and will try for a quieter day perhaps. THe rhubarb scones were fantastic.

User

Visited here with my 2 daughters on Sunday lunchtime, gorgeous little tea room, delicious cakes, traditional tea in China cups, friendly helpful staff, will definitely go back

User

Visited here for my dads birthday today. Choice of cakes was good and couldn't get over size of scones. Cream tea and afternoon tea was very good value for money. Never seen so much filling in sandwiches either. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Would definitely come back here and recommend it completely.

User

Visited Sunday for afternoon tea , for my Mums 85th birthday. The place was so busy & they were rushed off their feet but it felt very relaxed & the staff were so good & helpful. The food was delicious & the rhubarb scone & jam were the best I've ever tasted.Tried to buy some jam but they had sold out .No wonder this place is so busy.I highly recommend it.Will definitely be coming back.Thankyou for making my Mums birthday special on a very wet ,cold & rainy day.

User

The weather yesterday was wet & windy but we got a very warm welcome at this lovely tea room. Had an amazing afternoon tea, sandwiches, fab plum scones, cake & a huge pot of tea! Can't recommend it enough....will definitely be back! Thank you so much.

User

The best Brie, Bacon and Cranberry toasty on brown sandwich, with coleslaw and salad! My husband had the best cheese and Ham Ploughman's on the planet! Real tea in a teapot, bone China cups and saucers, came with a tea strainer! Perfect! The cakes looked amazing, to full, but next time!!!!

User

Thankyou for the best cream tea yet on our road trip through England. Visiting from Australia, my plan was to try as many scones during our visit, and so far the Steyning Tea Rooms are by far the best amongst others sampled through the lakes district, Stratford upon avon and Gloucester. My husband enjoyed the Rhubarb scone with Rhubarb vanilla jam which was "fantastic" in his words and my son had a beautiful vanilla milkshake with ice cream and cream. Many thanks for giving us a delightful english tearoom experience.

User

Scone Wednesday !! Delicious home made scones and jam with a proper pot of tea ! Don’t go through Steyning without going in here !

User

Our local tearoom of choice - even though it's a few miles away it's worth the trip. Friendly staff, cosy surroundings, HUGE scones, what's not to like?

User

Me and my friend visited today for the first time and it was lovely. We both had the Welsh Rarebit and it was delicious. Lovely staff and never felt rushed. We will definitely return.

User

Lovely lunch today, food was amazing, atmosphere was relaxed and the staff very cheerful, polite and helpful - highly recommended, we will be back

User

Lovely afternoon celebrating my mums birthday, lovely food, lovely atmosphere and lovely place, will defiantly be returning again and again.

User

I was taken by my family for a surprise tea it was well presented, but a little on the big side though we could take home what could not be consumed.

User

I had the goats cheese and bacon salad and my friend had the cheese ploughman's. Both where large size portions and tasted great. The staff where really lovely. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu

User

I had read all the previous reviews & decided to take my mother in law for a birthday afternoon tea. It was a very busy Sunday so I’m glad I booked but that didn’t affect our experience. It was relaxed, friendly & the food was delicious especially the rhubarb scones! My 1 year old loved the mini afternoon tea so would definitely return if I get the chance!

User

I go to the Steyning tea rooms often and it's really lovely!

The food is yummy and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing with no rush to move on!

The scones are a must to try ( not good for the hips and bum though as once you've had one you will be back for more! ) lol.......it's great!....I can't say more than that!

User

Had a lovely cream tea today! Couldn't manage the cake after the delicious huge plum scone so got to bring it home to enjoy later Was lovely sitting in the window with the sun shining on us. Thank you x

User

Fantastic choice all freshly cooked it was our first visit today it won't be the last. Staff were really friendly and even though they were busy we were never rushed.

User

Beautiful tea rooms, gorgeous food served in generous portions at reasonable prices (which they are only too happy for you to take away with you!) and amazingly friendly and welcoming staff. A rare gem that ticks all the boxes and more! It's not often you find a place like this where you feel immediately at ease and surrounded by people (both customers and staff) who are so happy to be there. Lovely place, will definitely revisit.

User

Beautiful sunny late afternoon. Unfortunately our friends were stuck on the M25, but the lovely staff were very understanding and we gave up our table for 6 and enjoyed the reubarb scones, jam, clotted cream, lovely tea and china outside watching the world go by. Just the best scones - sorry Mother! With full tummies we met our friends in The Pub, when they eventually arrived.

User

Another tasty lunch enjoyed here yesterday, I had a sandwich and my husband had a special from the board. Both were delicious and so filling, all freshly made. We then shared a scone, you can't beat their scones!

Always a lovely friendly atmosphere and we've never been disappointed with our food. Keep up the great work, already looking forward to our next visit 😀

User

All i can say is wow,we took our mum here on Saturday for afternoon tea and was truly not disappointed,we booked a table as it was recommended so we weren't disappointed if they couldn't fit us in,the friendly staff were lovely and our table was ready for us,there was a variety of sandwiches from the menu, cakes and either plain or fruit scones, they were presented to us on cake stands which was lovely so could easily get to your food,we found we couldn't eat all of it and took home what we didn't eat,the scones were warm with clotted cream and strawberry jam, afternoon tea was good value for money and i would recommend to other family members and friends,a lovely atmosphere and more important my mum had a lovely birthday thank you Steyning tea rooms x

User

Absolutely fell in love with the place.

The food is incredible, the atmosphere is fantastic and you are in no rush to leave or anything. Would come here again

User

We came here today for my mums birthday. I throughly enjoyed my afternoon tea and the plum scone did not disappoint and was lovely still warm. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is that the portions are too big, if we had known how big they were we would have shared, I took half of it home. Also there was far too much Brie in my sandwich which made it very filling before I had even started on my scone & cake. A heads up on this page about your cash only policy would also have been helpful. This aside this place is lovely and well worth a visit.

User

Monday late morning and still super busy, says a lot! We'd booked but people ad hoc had no chance. I had the rhubarb cream tea which was massive, straight from the oven and delicious, the pot of tea for 2 was at least 8 cups so they don't scrimp. Lovely cafe (my first time) and fast service. Was busy with young families which was quite loud, not unpleasant but not ideal if you wanted a quiet cuppa and a chat. I can see the appeal here as they are dog friendly too...

User
