Friendly staff, we opted for the tapas, of which all the dishes we picked were excellent and of great value compared to most other eateries in Cambridge. We loved the decor inside as it added real warmth to the friendly environment. Will most certainly return to d'arrys, and bring along a few friends too.
Discovered this place after some online searching as we travelled up early for a gig last night. Quality of food and standard of service were epic. Our waiter was the perfect mix of attentive and unintrusive at exactly the right times. Had the three courses for £13.95 and we all thought this was excellent value. Only wish you were more local to us. WHY aren’t you more local to us? (Can you move?) (Maybe we will move?)
Darrys was recommended by a friend so we gave it a try! The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff. The food was lovely and the prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed sitting in the sun sipping the pink pepper gin and tonic, would definitely recommend that! We’ll definitely be back!
Really cute place with some tasty food , some tips tho : The ceaser salad had too much creamy sauce and it kinda felt like I’m eating more cream than lettuce that’s just a personal preference but if it had less sauce it would be nicer. When making the olive oil and vinegar for the bread - it’s olive first and then balsamic vinegar not the other way around. Or let people mix it themselves by giving them the dish and two containers one with oil and one with vinegar. Otherwise would be returning if ever in Cambridge again
P.S Those lemonades are awesome !!! Really loved the apple and elderflower one !!!
Lovely place to sit by the window during the day, or warm and comfy on the sheepskin at night time, listening to local musicians. Great selection of cocktails, really friendly staff and a quirky back-story. Well worth stopping by.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, not an extensive menu but a good choice nonetheless. Had a long wait for the meal, but when it arrived it was worth it. I had Rump steak with peppercorn sauce, my friend had the lamb special, cooked to perfection. All very tasty, and their dauphinoise potatoes were delicious. I'd definitely recommend it as a great place to eat.
Starters were lovely ordered the tempura prawns and the new layout looks beautiful however the service and the mains were slightly disappointing. Ordered the chicken and parma ham which was really dry however the sauce was lovely. The vegetables served ( one piece of brocolli and one baby sweetcorn ) were so crunchy I couldn't eat them and am perhaps wondering whether a few more should be on the plate. service was a bit slow as it seems that we were forgotten about . plenty of potential and had a lovely evening just a shame about the mains
Staff were lovely and attentive. Good atmosphere. We started with a baked Camembert which was lovely. Main courses were a real disappointment, waited quite a while and the burger seemed to be from a supermarket chain and did not taste good. Wouldn't recommend.
Good venue but I asked for a Blood Orange Margarita and it came as a lime one. The girl behind the bar said " it's just called that because it comes from an orange bottle".....
Ate there on Saturday 1st September in the private dining room. The room was lovely apart from the plastic patio tables we sat at!! We ate from the set menu. The starters and desserts were good but the main courses were mediocre. Not sure I’d go back in a hurry!
Really love this place but turned up at 12pm on Sunday, sun shining, stairs to the liquor loft were open and so was the bar door but no one inside. We waited around as thought they would open up a little after 12 and 10 minutes later were told they couldn't open for another half an hour!. It would have been better to close of the stairs until they were ready to open as we wasted 15 minutes waiting around. Will definitely go again but was a little disappointed at the the service this day.
Really interesting environment but disappointed that deals advertised on Fbk in late July no longer apply despite no evidence of that on Fbk - we were told that they had been advertised by the previous manager: so what? And pint of draught beer cost very nearly £6 ...
Liquor loft nice space and cocktails very good... but that's it. Food such a disappointment; long wait, kitchen ran out but didn't tell waiting staff, offered alternative, arrived stone cold. Refund. We like your space but we left with mixed opinions, shame.
Liquor lift very cool, but restaurant very disappointing, slow service, not a great menu, no champagne glass's to have with our champagne?? Would not eat there again but would return to upstairs for drinks
Happy hour not to happy, only 4 cocktails and the worst beer of the night. We had planned to stay there for the evening but could only manage 2 drinks. Nice bar and staff helpful, would try again sometime.
Disappointing! Only bartender Rachel did try to make my visit better, thsts the only reason I brought my friends over (another 4 guys disappointed!)
My drink was sickly sweet, and didn't have anything to do with "Collins family" couldn't return it in because " that's the drink, this is how it should be, the drink is good... You need to pay for it!!" said by pretentious and rude bartender basically trying to say "f@#k off and pay the money I know better"
Politely asked for aperol spritz, came in the rocks glass(?!) not even stirred(?) with grapefruit peel, no orange (?)
My friends drink came after ages, used very old and tired mint, garnish was basically black!
Waited long to get served every time, food was a let down, charcuterie had old salad garnish and slices of meat weren't even Separeted after taking from package... Waitresses didn't know what they carry and serve. 6-7 dishes and couldn't get any help with it, been ignored and left ( one vegetarian ;).
Flat bread served careless with so much oil on it need to strain it to a plate...
Only good thing. Rachel who made me feel welcome the first time and give customer service and any care. So it's a +1 from 1/5.
Bill came up to £75, not an issue... It's just overall experience and disappointment of my guest's...
Been here a few times before, nice food.
Unfortunately if you have a taste card you can't use it here anymore even though it's still advised on taste card website which we were told when we asked the waiter even though I used it there 2 weeks ago.
Would have been nice if it was honoured that evening or offered some discount due to the false advertisement.
We went to the Liquor Loft last night and ordered 4 cocktails. It cost us £35. We wouldn’t have been bothered about the price if they were nice or even drinkable. They were pure alcohol! We watched the bar tender pour the drinks nervously and no soft drinks were used. Perhaps it was his first shift. We left all 4 drinks. Should have complained at the time...needless to say we won’t be ordering cocktails there again!
Rubbish cocktails. Staff with a bad attitude
