We booked this hotel for a last minute getaway and got it at a reasonable price.......fortunately. The room we were given had a four poster bed which in the photos looked lovely. The room itself was a little dated but ok and the bed linen/towels were clean. The bathroom was disgusting, it was supposed to have a spa bath which was ancient with the front hanging off and the decorative panels on the front were peeling off. The walls were black with damp and the paper was peeling off. The bed was so uncomfortable both my husband and I suffered with back pain the following day, we also got very little sleep as any slight movement made the joints on the four poster creak terribly. On the plus side the evening meal was lovely and any staff we came across were very pleasant and helpful.

Not a great atmosphere. Very quiet and sterile. Decor is dated, though a refurbishment is underway. Food was excellent as was the service

We actually had a good time here, but in all honesty that's only because we saw the funny side of things... this hotel is like Faulty Tower's.
Pros - good evening meal
Cons -1. roof had been leaking for some time, leaving a big hole and many buckets!
2. So called spa ... changing rooms out of order *sauna out of order *Jacuzzi only works if you can continually press the button for a good 5 mins without fear of shorting out.
3. No towels for spa as the washer was broken, we were told to use our bath towels.
4. Being told by the very young "manager" that they had prostitutes in recently 😱 that'll be why condoms wet wipes and tights and listed to buy...
5. First bedroom was damp
6. The hit on chlorine when you walk through the door.
We were meant to pay £20 on check out but after the farce I was so shocked to be asked. I said your joking right "why" where do you want me to start I replied... safe to say I didn't pay it.
If you haven't great sense of humor and have always wanted to stay at faulty towers then this place is the place to be.

Do not book until they prove they have had a full refurb. The two stars are only for the waiting staff at evening meal, breakfast and check out. The telephone manor of the person on duty and on the desk was terrible and I'm really sorry I had to bother you when your were eating your soup at the front desk. Evening meal was quite bland. Breakfast was good. Service staff were very attentive and friendly. This place is only let down by the miserable manager and housekeeping staff. Oh and the fact the place is dirty and falling to bits. It is a real shame they continue to lie (according to previous reviews) that they are being refurbished. This could be a really nice hotel. Until then I would not recommend the hotel.

The most fantastic value for money afternoon tea... all this for £20 .... for two. £10 each. Incredible value and extremely tasty too. Good service. Cannot fault it.

Nice place friendly staff could do with a lick of paint in rooms but apart from that all good enjoyed my stay

Small room and banged my head on the ceiling a couple of times near the window. Pool was nice but far too much chlorine in the jacuzzi that meant we couldn't stay in more than two minutes for the stinging in our eyes, and the steam room lacked steam. It was just a room. Clean and tidy otherwise.

Good location, good rooms, lovely service

Decent hotel room was nice also cleanliness fine. Food in the evening ok. Hot food at breakfast was poor. Service in restaurant poor more training needed.
