I was absolutely blown away when I visited The Fox tonight. We decided to see if we could get a table to have a meal after my daughters Brownie promise ceremony and even though it was by invite only they found us a table. The bar tender ( Mathew ) was not only professional but friendly and welcoming. The menu was fantastic, and when the food arrived it was amazing and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful ( Anna ). The renovation has been done so tastefully, I love the animal themed decor and touches of tartan, the colour coordinated tree just made the place look stunning. We used to come to the fox out of convenience but now I honestly can't wait to come back and try a pizza. What a wonderful change up in staff attitude, decor and food xXx

First time back after the refit. The guy carving was a total star. Nothing was too much trouble for him and the banter with the customers was terrific. We will be back to try the rest of the menu over the coming year.

Carvery excellent although I would prefer plain cauliflower to be offered as well as cauliflower cheese. The meats were cooked perfectly and the roast potato great. Dad has the fish and th. Enjoyed it. Mom's a small eater so had the bbq wings which were very juicy. Service excellent too

Brill food excellent staff, couldn’t ask for a better pub, food is to die for too! Suggest to anyone who reads this to give the place a try :) save your time cooking and spend them hours with your family at this place! Worth your money!

Went here one afternoon after refurbishment had carvery which was the same standard as it's always been. I noticed a couple at the next table had a pizza with chips and salad and it looked really tasty. Woman's toilets were shocking as if they had not been cleaned all day. When it was the crown fox toilets were spotless its OK doing nice food and having a clean pub but toilets are also part of the service so should be spotless all the time. Staff are friendly and helpful

We ate here two nights in a row. The second night we waited over an hour for the last pizza but they chef was so busy and we really felt for him. When we got the food it was very nice and the pizza was a lot better than the one the day before. Thank you. Cavery was great as always, our 5 year olds favourite.

Great place but needs a dedicated smoking area, not nice being made to walk past a plume of smoke when you enter and exit.

Nice place just passing by and found it a clean and inviting so i am sure I well go back for a meal

Good selection of meat & veg pity it wasn’t as hot as the mash😕

Took my daughter for breakfast yesterday & it was awful bacon was overcooked the eggs omg they were rubber the beans were vile.

I used to love coming here for breakfast but its not what it used to be.

Won't be coming back

Why is their only baby changing in the women's toilets and not mens?



The place is big enough for a baby changing / disabled toilet.



What happens if the baby's dad or grandad has taken baby out and they're not with a women. Absolutely disgusting.

Went for a carvery today was not happy at all the meats on offer where dry and had seen better days mash potatoes more like mush with lumps in overall experience not good and wouldn't go.there again waste of money !

Went for a carvery since the revamp. Meat all dried up, sprouts looked they had been left to cook all day. Roast potatoes were burnt, crisped up and the gravy was very runny. Tables and cutlery dirty. Disappointed, and the price has gone up aswell! Will definitely not be returning, I would prefer to pay the extra and go to the Toby Carvery

We were a party of 7 adults and 3 children who visited the newly revamped Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery to celebrate my grandsons birthday -

On arrival I visited the ladies toilets, where only 2 out of 5 toilets were in a usable state, even then not as expected. Which I immediately reported to the bar staff. She stated that she would get it looked at.

It was a very busy afternoon, with long queues, the layout of the carvery area was dis-organised with people having to cross through the queue to get to the gravy and other condiments. The carvery was being served by the lady that had previously served us at the bar.(the serving area was very messy) There seemed to be no staff around clearing tables yet quite a few staff standing behind the serving area in a door way, ( one young lady eating a packet of crisps) My daughters Pizza order was wrong and had to be redone. there were queues to get the chips to go with the pizza, it felt as though we had to have our meals in relays, so did not all eat together. We decided to not bother with dessert. All in all not a pleasant experience. We eat out regularly and have frequented the Fox on many occassions for various celebrations. But we will not be rushing to visit you again.

We visited here yesterday, very mediocre food that looked like it had been sitting there all night. My son & daughter ordered a Beef Burger and some Fish Fingers both meals came out an hour after the rest of our table had eaten there meals. The staff were aware of the issue and offered my son & four year old daughter a free dessert. We won't be returning.

We go to the fox as a family quite often and I've never been as disappointed as I am today the meat was extremely tough the cauliflower cheese was really hard and had no cheese on I found a hair in my dinner the gravy had a big lump in and the veg a was watery and tasteless I never write a bad review but I really don't think I want to visit again

The service at the bar is terrible never enough staff.

Can’t understand why there isn’t a position at the bar just to Order food.

And when we where at the carvery area the turkey look like it had been there all day. Poor food quality.

The meat was being cut from the joint and it was dropped on the side I thought it would be thrown away but no it was put on my plate, rather than make a deal out of it I just thought I won’t eat that bit. Halfway though my meal I had to run to the toilet where I was so sick, my daughter felt sick after eating hers. The roast potatoes were rock hard I could even put a knife through them. The meat was dry it looked like it had been standing there all day which makes me wonder if that’s why I was sick.
