There’s a lot of misinformation being spread about trans people in media right now. Read our Q&A which not only answers some of the common questions that get asked about trans people, but tackles some of those myths and misconceptions being spread: http://bit.ly/2rCgbrl

Stonewall CEO condemns transphobia at Pride

Without your work my life would be significantly less, less equal, less relaxed, less open. Breaking ground isn’t a perfect business.

Why should we try to change a country tolerance for certain behaviour. I think it is narcissistic to tell another country what their morals ought to be. These people are not oppressed, they are not forced to leave their homes, it's just not acceptable in some countries full stop. It's not social injustice. I think sometimes we put our noses where it's not wanted and this creates wars. In those countries it has become an acceptable way of life. Christianity is not intolerant in fact I believe gays have their rights in this country but it may not be accepted in other countries. They migrate but still see their family and their families visit them. It is not injustice because these countries do not have a high number of gays. I always believe people have rights and choices. Its acceptable, whether the first world countries accept it or not. I believe some people are born gay and some of my friends are gay. I know their struggles and why they choice to leave and migrate. Everything is not about "out social injustice &bring it to people's attention". These countries have very strong moral and cultural beliefs, there is a mixture of all cultural Muslim Hindi sheiks Catholic Church of England. No one tries to impose their will on others and they do not impose their culture on other that's why the society lives in harmony. First world countries are liberated to the expense of morals and values. Rebecca their concerns/livelihood aren't yours and sorry but find a cause closer to home. Stop trying to create issues when non exist. These countries are happy they are "commonwealth" yet " independent " and they don't need these stupid rhetoric and posting. They do not take part in wars, they don't care about the beliefs of first world countries, let them be and find another cause to target your cause

Most of the commonwealth countries are very religious and hence homosexuality is not openly acceptable. Why make a big issue about it. Why do we have to judge other countries faith or practices. I lived in a commonwealth country and I know the difficulties for gays most of them live a closet life and yes they are unhappy however most of them migrate. Not every thing is a big debate. That's their way of life. First world countries are very open and promiscuous but these commonwealth countries are very traditional with high moral values. What is acceptable in a first world country may not be acceptable in commonwealth. They live a lovely life most of them are Christians and yes they believe that god made man to be with a woman or as they say adam for Eve not Adam for Steve. Let's just enjoy the game and not make a big political issues. I accept and approve of gay relationship however I know what traditional commonwealth countries accept. It has nothing to do with the world. Are we so narcsatist that we must change every country because of their beliefs.

Thank you for standing with trans against the bigots within the community

User

Stonewall does great work for the LGBT+ community.

User

Keeps you grounded on issues that still affect so many people and is a beacon of awareness!

User

I've seen a few negative comments on these reviews, but personally I don't think they are deserved. Stonewall is a hard-working, tireless, caring organization, who has never given up and who *always* cares about the people affected, both gay and straight. I will always support this charity, they do amazing work and I can't sing their praises highly enough. Bless you Stonewall -X-

User

Good to see an LGBT+ organisation that focuses on the most marginalised of the community. =D

User

Judging by these posts it would appear that Stonewall need to apply some transparency. I haven't rated the organisation lower because I believe that would do more harm than good. Perhaps it would benefit from some fresh blood, and to re-centre its position, some positive strategies wouldn't go amiss. And some helpful PR to address concerns that stakeholders have. It's all very well having your heart in the right place but make sure every beat counts.

User

You seem you very keen asking for money but I have yet to receive any feedback on the comment I sent you over a week ago.

User

This organization under Ruth Hunt refuses to join an international movement to stand firmly and completely against what is happening in Brunei. Do not send it money. Do not support it. Do not do anything unless and until Ruth Hunt has joined the unemployed and been replaced by someone who understands what the job is all about. You've all been tricked.

User

This 1 in 5 LGBT hate crime statistic that this charity is spreading is just as inaccurate as the 1 in 5 campus sexual assault statistic.

The research survey that they did to come up with this statistic only had 5375 participants! Stonewall themselves say that 5-7% of the Uk population is a reasonable estimate for the LGBT population numbers in the UK. Let’s say 5% of the UK population are LGBT, that’s over 3.2 million individuals that this 1 in 5 statistic supposedly applies to.

You cannot spread inaccurate statements and statistics like this. The sample size is ridiculously small (only around 0.17% of the population you are studying). By saying this statistic as though it were fact, you are outright lying to the public, and it sickens me and I’m sure many people agree with me.

User

Stonewall have turned their back on females! The words transphobic, bigot and terf are being thrown around when people have concerns and worries over safe spaces for women, women's/females rights and lesbian erasure. It's interesting that the people squashing womanhood, lesbianism and issues around this are not deemed to be misogynistic, bigots, sexist, have femalephobia or lesbophobia and yet anyone who stands up for this is, of course, deemed transphobic or a terf. We could have all come together like we used to but you play a part in this divide. I'm all for squashing gender norms and stereotypes. However, I'm not all for invasion of womanhood and safe spaces.

User

Stonewall are in no position to take the moral high ground with Pride London when your own recent track record is so dire. You refused to include Trans people until recently but even worse was your refusal to boycott the Dorchester Hotel chain when its owner the Sultan of Brunei introduced Death Penalty for Gays. You just carried on with fine dining jollies at the Dorchester unphased. How utterly disgraceful.

User

Since Stonewall supports the severe discrimination of lesbians by the trans/queer movement, it has become a lesbophobic organisation. Homophobic too as Stonewall does not support homosexuality as sexual attraction to someone of your own biological same sex anylonger. Many lesbians and gays are walking away. People, please be aware Stonewall no longer supports gays, lesbians and bisexuals. They support the sexual and verbal abuse of lesbians by the trans/queer movement, which is discrimination of and hate speech to female homosexuals, and is against UK law.. If you have any questions, I can provide you with tons of evidence. Feel free to DM me and I ask you not to be abusive. Be aware and protect your rights.

User

Shocking that you are not siding with the majority of people whom you claim to fight for, for our LGB cousins worldwide, in particularly Brunei. Ruth Hunt has shown herself to be misguided, out of touch and, perhaps, self serving. Never thought I'd see the day Id be ashamed to be associated with Stonewall.

User

Pretty disgusted that Stonewall is slipping into bed with the Satan of Brunei and not supporting the boycott of the Dorchester hotels.

Also not being vocal enough about the USA govt patent of the Aids cure but withholding it from the public... Very sad that Stonewall pays only lip service to advancing issues but is a gormless and toothless organization

User

Marsha P Johnson called, she would like her brick back please. Disgusting how quick you are to condemn own own community, they very people you're supposed to protect, when they have to defend themselves, to pander to those who don't just threaten our way of life, but our literal lives.

No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us. When did you forget that?

User

Lost all respect for you over this past year
