We popped in last night hoping to get a table as being race week we knew it would be busy. Luckily we got a table, we'd never eaten here before but had read really good reviews. Pleased to say we weren't disappointed and all 4 of us could not fault our meal. We will definitely be back.

We had our Christmas day lunch here. I was concerned about our table being available at 2pm as we had a disastrous wait last year (not at the Storyteller) but the service couldn't have been better and our table was waiting for us on arrival. There were a few hiccups over receiving our soup and starter course in the wrong order and whether they served cider or not, but I get the feeling our waiter was a bit inexperienced. However he was polite, apologised profusely about the hiccups and had a good sense of humour. The food was delicious and plentiful. We weren't at all rushed add we all really enjoyed our meal. I really hope they offer Christmas lunch again next year as we will be back.

We had a party of 8 for a joint celebration for my and daugther's birthdays. Age range of the group was from 14 to 70. The menu was varied and catered to everyone's taste. I had the lamb confit to start, the elk burger for mains and 3 scoops of high quality ice cream with all 3 flavours out of the ordinary. All the dishes i had were excellent and the 70 year old had a fish and seafood dish that he said was the best he had had anywhere. The drinks list was varied which included an extensive cocktail range and a good wine list. It being a birthday celebration, the staff accommodated our request to present a birthday cake with candles lit that we had brought along. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and attentive. Everything was reasonably price, particularly for the quality of food we experienced. Will definitely eat there again on our return to Cheltenham.

The story teller is a lovely place to eat and drink. They have there own wine cellar and the food is just amazing. The staff are fantastic at there job too.

Thank you for helping us celebrate my husbands Birthday (27 again) as we, all 10 of us had and amazing night. The food was great and with 10 full tummies you can thank your chefs. Thank you to Adam, our waiter who was also brilliant. He was busy but had time for us, and a little banter (always welcome). We know the hospitality trade and it's hard work, thanks goes a long way....so .. Thank you! Oh and Adam, you need roller skates, thank you for your time and service keep up the good work.

Still can't get over how good my Cowboy steak and chips was last night even made me my own blue cheese sauce I wanted and it was unreal! Still thinking about it now �2nd time here and defiantly will be coming back again and again ! Thank you so much. Waiter was lovely too!

Myself an my boyfriend came here for a Birthday meal. The table was set up with baloons and banners, staff and waiter who served us delivered amazing service; they're so friendly and chilled. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm although busy and the food was amazing! Compliments to the chef! Awsome experience and we will for sure be returning! Many thanks for the lovely evening! Made my birthday extra special! �xxxx

Food was amazing and staff were very helpful and friendly. I had the kangaroo rump which was very nice. Only downside was there wasn't enough on the plate for the price you pay. Also paying £4.75 for a bottle of Thatchers cider is ridiculous. Would eat here again.

Fantastic Night last night! I organised my wife's surprise birthday meal with Ivan and the team after a last minute cancellation with another restaurant. From the outset the team couldn't have been more helpful with sorting us out a table and after some movement in the numbers. The service on the night was spot on and the guys were all helpful and cheerful, with all the guests commenting on the quality of the restaurant staff. The food was brilliant especially when the majority of the guests ordered steak. A huge thanks again and look forward to returning there to sample more of the menu!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We was welcomed and shown to our table in the conservatory. Staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and came out fresh and piping hot.The only criticism we could find would be the chairs were uncomfortable and too low, also no air conditioning. Highly recommended. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Probably our fault for going on a Sunday night just after New Year, as the restaurant lacked atmosphere. The food was great especially the kangaroo and steak fajitas. Cocktails were OK but thought it was expensive for the quality of service and other food ordered. Slightly disappointed as Storyteller has a good reputation in Cheltenham. Sorry.

Waiter dropped a fork and just placed it back onto a table and said "I'll polish it later"

We had to keep reminding the waiter we ordered drinks.

One of our group ordered a white coffee which ended up being more black!

Food was nice though, came on time and actually helped give this place an extra star.

This is one of my favourite places to eat but it was sadly lacking last night. Poor service, mix ups with dishes and the classic bring some peoples dishes out but the others waiting for a while for theirs! They may well of been understaffed but no one told us. Not one apology all night. The main meals were fine and none of our group had problems. But the puddings were overpriced and average at best! That sticky pudding I had was the most measly portion I have ever seen and 7 quid!!! Wish I took a picture. Absolutely gutted as this is one of my fav places and it was a massive let down for my birthday, and for friends who had never been before!

A little bit disappointed, as a wheelchair user there was no ramped access to the building and NO disabled toilet? The toilets were downstairs so I had to use the staff toilet and had to leave my wheelchair outside (luckily I could manage a few steps). Won't be coming back until the disabled are catered for �

My friend I was with could see directly down to the kitchen where the waitress was eating our food off our plates, and put them back ready to be served to us!

We cancelled the food and went else where.



For the money you pay in there you expect 1st class service not a mouthy waitress swearing!! Think the staff need reviewing.
