Stratton Methodist Description

Stratton Methodist Church is about three miles outside Swindon Town Centre in North Wiltshire. We're a part of the North Wiltshire Methodist Circuit
.
We have a commitment to youth work at Stratton and our morning services are often based on an "All-Age Worship" approach, catering for the needs of the full age-spectrum of the congregation. This usually includes significant input from the Church music group.

You may wish to note that we have one service each Sunday, beginning at 10. 30am.

Yesterday we welcomed Rev Andrew Wigley as our new Minister. He led our annual covenant service including communion.
If you didn't get the chance to welcome him then he will next preach on Sunday 23rd September at 10.30am

Great to see some positive press about the working going on at Booth House. We continue to help by supporting and funding the Tuesday night Cooking club and of course including Booth House on the route the bus takes at each Community Kitchen.

So this morning we said goodbye to Debbie and Edwin as they move to another circuit and Debbie takes up a new appointment. Stratton members and friends sent them off with a wonderful rose called 'Wiltshire' and vouchers for Go Outdoors so they can buy something to help them further explore the countryside.
Debbie and Edwin will be missed by everyone but as is Methodism, we now look forward to welcoming our new minister, Rev Andrew and his wife the Rev Trudie Wigley.

Thank you to everyone who came to Debbie's Circuit farewell service and tea yesterday. Despite the heat, the packed church worshipped and heard Dr Jonathan Pye's message.

At Stratton, we pride ourselves on having a great mix of contemporary and traditional music during services. Led by a worship group using keyboard and guitars we will also use our pipe organ. It all depends on the hymn/song.
Check out the list of the top 20 worship songs as compiled by the copyright organisations CCLI - come to worship to hear many of them.
Number 1 remains - 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord).

The wonderful Immanuel choir led by Geoff Gleed accompanied by Berkeley Hill on the organ. A piece we guarantee you know and love regardless of faith.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow... sang the combined congregations of St Margaret's Parish Church and Stratton Methodist this morning. After worship, led by Rev Debbie Hodgson we shared fellowship in the hall enjoying tea, coffee and home baked cakes. Thanks to everyone for making it such a time of celebration.
