Strawberry Verse was started by Emma Thackray, who lives a simple but blissful life in pretty Hertfordshire with her husband and her beloved bastard of a cat, Ron Weasley.

From a very young age, Emma forced her parents to endure her weekly poetry readings in their living room in rural Norfolk. Thankfully, this didn’t put them off enough to stop them from encouraging her to later pursue a degree in English and Creative writing at Brunel University, from which she graduated with First Class Honours in 2010.

Since then, Emma has done many different things with her life, from running her own tuition company with her best friend Kate, to taking a two-month trip to New Zealand that somehow turned into two years.

Her heart has always brought her back to her writing, however, and she specifically loves writing poetry to serve as a reminder of happy events. Since her sister asked her to write a personalised reading for her wedding in 2013, Emma found herself receiving a growing number of requests from people asking her to use her way with words to help them commemorate their own special occasions.
