Stylus Architects The completed designs for a full refurbishment of a 1930’s property in Guildford includes 2 subtle glazed inserts which recess into the existing fabric of the building. These elements act, in part as a visual link connecting the out building to the larger section of the house and also provide juxtaposition between old and new which is now an English Heritage favoured design method.

Stylus Architects We are proud to announce that our floating brick house is featured in don’t move improve. This is a photo of the faithfully restored Victorian reception rooms. The rooms are divided with reclaimed Georgian window shutters that act as a movable screen. This gives the user the versatility of space allowing the owner to experience the one larger space or separate into 2 smaller enclosed rooms.

The Corten house designed by STYLUS ARCHITECTS Utilises a Corten exoskeleton which frames the simple glazed façade behind. The frame, which is the main design feature of this ground floor extension also serves the purpose of supporting the roof structure. This complex frame is to be prefabricated off-site and installed over three days.
The main living space is situated to the rear of the building and the floor levels for both these interior and exterior spac...es are the same. This allows the sliding doors to be stacked behind the main Corten frame when opening the rear living area to the garden.
The designs also include a full refurbishment, two storey side extension, loft and master bedroom suite. The building boasts three reception rooms, an open plan kitchen and dining room, a grand entrance hall, five large double bedrooms, two ensuite’s and a new large family bathroom as well as other ancillary spaces.

Planning has been achieved for the 'modern' Barn House. The site is located in a small village in Hertfordshire and the house has been designed around the conceptual style of a modern barn to reflect its context within its agricultural setting. Primary consideration when designing this home was given to the way the building interacts with its surroundings.
Externally the palette of materials has been kept simple to match the surrounding buildings. Planar glass and metal tied together with a slate roof and a mixture of red bricks are specified. The main living spaces are open to the most spectacular views of the historic medieval moat, enticing you out into the garden and the rolling landscape beyond. .

STYLUS ARCHITECTS were commissioned to design a new contemporary interior for a public house in central London. The design looked at all the elements that made a British pub successful and looked to emphasise these elements within both the architecture and interior design.

The entrance concept designed for a new house in Hertfordshire. The simple space is designed to convey elegance and drama and invite the user through the rest of the building. The centre piece is the floating staircase and balcony to the entrance hall.

Nearing completion on the extension, refurbishment and facelift of a tired 1980’s house. The transformed house will draw on classical and modern themes and is a case study to show that even the most uninspiring property’s can be completely overhauled and transformed. As you can see the new building bears little resemblance to its previous self but has utilised the existing structure as much as possible. Stylus Architects Interior design concept which includes strong connections to the internal and external spaces in line with the clients brief.

The focus of this project was simplicity through maximising space, utilizing the existing building and using sustainable materials. The three core materials used are glass, masonry and metal. The central core of the building is spliced with two glazed elements that sandwich a living wall. The two glazed elements wrap the building from font to back while the living wall wraps the building and bleeds into the front and rear gardens creating a sense of gravitas on the facades.
