STE Weddings & Independent Celebrant will be hosting their first Wedding Fayre at Holywells Park, Ipswich, Suffolk. Holywells Park has a history dating back to medieval times. The Park was originally part the Manor of Wykes Bishop, held by the Bishops of Norwich from the 13th Century. The Cobbolds sold the estate in 1930 to Lord Woodbridge who subsequently bequeathed the land to the Town Council and was opened as a park in 1936. Today....Holywells Park is a 67-acre public par...k in Ipswich, Suffolk situated between Nacton Road and Cliff Lane, near to Ipswich dock. In July 2012, Ipswich Borough Council had received a grant of £2.8 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery Fund (BIG) for the Holywells “Parks For People” restoration project. Among the improvements made possible by the grant are a visitor centre in the Stable Block, the restoration of the Orangery, an open-air theatre space, better access and new toilets. The funding will also enable a series of events and activities to take place within the park that will encourage its increased use by wider and more diverse audience. Due to the stunning refurbishment of the Orangery, this make an idyllic setting and back drop for Weddings. Unfortunately, due to the Wedding Licensing Laws still in this country, the Orangery could not Legally marry a couple. With the help of a Celebrant Weddings can be performed and have been since the funded was granted. With this said, The Park would love to push Weddings more, so that’s when I felt the idea of a Wedding Fayre would help to support this. We have had so much interest & support to make this event become a reality.
