Did you know in 2002 the founder of Sultan Mahal had been selected as one of eight finalist in the Tommy Miah Chef of the year competition beating 5,000 entrants to make it into the final?
Its no wonder we call him the Curry King!

One of the best curry houses around, good food, good service and a good atmosphere. Seekh kebabs and king prawn butterfly are fantastic

Not up to south shields standards but still very nice would definitely recommend

Love this place the staff are very friendly.the food is great too...been a couple of times..had set meal for two for 25quid and a bottle of wine.

I visited this restaurant last night and what a great place it is. The food is Fantastic, one of the best Currys I've had. The meal was very good value for money and the service was absolutely excellent. I would recommend this restaurant any day. 10 out of 10 for me.

Had my daughter's 18th here fantastic food and lovely staff would recommend this place any time

Called last night for a curry I got the kofta fried meat balls they were brilliant and full of flavour and the prices are brilliant too well defo come back

Absolutely love love love ūüėčUsed to go on a weekly basis at least two to three times a week. But don't go out much now so always get deliverys now. But last night out on a girly catch up I suggested going here for few drinks and food. Some of the girls never been before and they loved the food too!

Absolutely brilliant gorgeous curries and starters fabulous staff and very good value for money.

Have to agree with Karen on this one. Do not order a takeaway we also had to wait an hour and a half and one curry was wrong. Same thing happened a few weeks ago a group of us went in for a meal and were kept waiting an hour before we could even order. Their food is lovely but the service is atrocious needs sorting out asap.

A great curry house in Halifax providing you go there to eat. However, do not order a takeaway from here ! We had to wait over an hour and a half for a delivery on a Tuesday evening ! When it finally arrived the order was wrong and we were given lamb instead of chicken , when we rang to tell them of their mistake, we were told the owner would ring us back ! Yep still waiting ! So as ratings for takeaway go 0/10 !

We order from here all the time, but the last couple of times it's had items missing, and curry was so bland tonight not to mention the Burnt chips ... really disappointing

Takeaway service is awful late missing food and nasty attitude when you ring to ask for what you ordered
