We're closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Thursday 27th December and New years Day.

Christmas is coming but so is lots of waste paper and packaging. Here are some tips to aximise your recycling efforts.
1. Flatten cardboard boxes before recycling to save room in the recycling container.
2. Remove ribbons, bows and other adornments before recycling wrapping paper. Save them for re-use next year.
... 3. Make sure all food is out of card and paper packaging before recycling. Pop what you can in the compost.
4. Keep card or paper packaging with glitter out of the recycling container.
5. Remember the scrunch test! Squash your wrapping paper and if it doesn't stay scrunched in a ball it cannot be recycled. Better still, use recycled brown paper or wrap gifts creatively in fabric which can be re-used.
You can find your nearest recycling centre at www.recyclenow.com

Lovely to give the vouchers for Green & Black's chocolate earned by our sales team to Dave from CTC Winter Shelter & The Gathering Place and Halifax Food & Support Drop In this lunchtime.
Helping people needing food and shelter over Christmas, and over the year.

Vegan meatballs make a great Christmas present. Lunch. I meant lunch.

User

We don’t want to waste food or packaging, so we’ll only be introducing a new look to our 1,100 Suma brand items when the old packaging has been used.

Well Madalen, no one is perfect. Suma have saved countless animal's lives by providing tasty non-meat alternatives. Saved vast amounts of greenhouse gases by replacing meat animals with veggie alternatives. Planted thousands of trees to offset energy use and saved many other by selling recycled paper products for decades. Kickstarted the entire environment friendly household products revolution, yes Suma were the first to import Ecover. Supported hundreds of small scale food producers and helped so many customers through tough trading patches. So you can pick faults Madalen, but how much have you done in the last 40 years to compare to this?

Shopped with Suma since the 1980’s as a member of a small co-operative in my home town. Always great service and quality products. Continue to buy from them

User

I've shopped at my local vegan shop supplied by Suma for ten years, having all this healthy food available to so many people is awesome.

User

I love the ethics of Suma. Wherever possible, I buy British and local - so with Suma being a British cooperative of workers, I know my purchases with them are supporting a great organisation (the largest independent wholefoods wholesaler in the UK). I also appreciate what independent means - not selling out, in order to maintain the values and morals Suma are proud to have built up over their 41 years of trading. I'm vegetarian and am passionate about preserving the environment, organic farming and eating - as well as using all natural products. With this in mind, I know everything I buy from Suma - fits with my beliefs. LONG LIVE SUMA! We love you .

User

I have been using Suma since opening my store 15 months ago and cannot praise them highly enough. Everyone from the office staff to the drivers are unfailingly helpful and work hard to resolve any problems. Also have to say that their product range is fantastic, their own brand goods of excellent quality and their ethics are top notch. Keep it up Suma and thank you

User

Great products, great service and a fab place to work too!

User

Fantastic choice of foods available for any budget. Makes it easy to make ethical, environmentally friendly shopping decisions. And they're a coop!

User

Fairness and quality and reasonably priced so all can benefit, can't ask for much more than that. :)

User

Excellent customer service, friendly staff, great products and I love the redesign of some of the goods. really love the new Italian black chickpeas too, but the best part has to be the fact they are a workers co-op- we need more businesses like this!

User

The new SUMA 77 beer is a bit heavily flavoured for a session ale but, for an IPA, packed with flavour. One for later in the evening me-thinks ;-)

User

Great range of foods, both healthy and indulgence! Very good customer service team and I'm very happy with my first delivery! Thank you

User

Wow, just called Suma to say that I had lost my log in details. Only to be told that they couldn't find them. Asked to re-join and told that there is a shop that they supply near me (5 miles away and we have no public transport here). The shop does not supply everything I need, and Suma does not want to sell to me. Unbelievable. I will shop elsewhere. Such poor customer service.

User

Well we thought ordering from Suma and trying to set up a food buying coop with friends, it took a while to set up made very difficult by missing items, double orders (that was amazing twice the stuff we ordered at double the price, makes budgeting quite difficult). Then when we start to get orders for this November all of a sudden you change your policy and decide not to deliver to customers even when they fulfil the requirements for an order. Now thanks to your incompetence after months of billing us for invoices we have already paid sending out nasty letters when we have sent you all payment transfer evidence and email receipts via email but yet that does not stop them coming, all though now we have to tell people why you can not supply us and have to look for another supplier that wont randomly refuse to fulfil orders just before Christmas.

Thanks for nothing

Unfortunately Suma are not a friend to small businesses, with very expensive minimum orders, offering no discounts to charities, they use huge trucks to deliver goods which is terrible to the planet and inconvenient for access, the customer service is not easily accessed and they offer very little flexibility to deal with issues. In an ideal world Suma would operate in line with all the ethics voiced in their marketing.

User

The quality of organic food in uk is not so great in general and so expensive , suma is another low quality company who uses words like organic and coop green ..etc for marketing their products... They use processed toxin low quality jus like Holland and Barrett

they claim a lot of principles like being environment friendly and all the rest but I had extremely bad experience talking to them on the phone!

I highly don't recommend them.

User

I have a small shop in Peak District and I have phone Suma to open account with them after 30 minuets spent o the phone I was told that I will get a phone call back with the account confirmation and log in details, well the phone call back was to say that on Google maps looks like I am in the middle of nowhere and if I want to have any delivery’s the minimum order needs to be £650 so I said no thank you as a small business I won’t be able to afford that so I found a different supplier.Well after 2 weeks I received a phone call from a manager asking if I want to order something I was astonished as I went to explain the situation she kindly said she will have a look into and let me know , she rang back and she said the minimum order will go down to £350 but I will need to go down the road and pick my own goods up ????? As I went to explain that I won’t be using Suma she said quote “Don’t interrupt me let me finish talking “ so I hang up on her . So wow Suma thank you very much for a terrible experience with you and as a small business I will make sure no products will be sold from my business or recommend you as a wholesaler .And my village it is not in the middle of nowhere we don’t live in the Stone Age here we have massive trucks delivering supplies to the businesses around here and I am sure you don’t need to use a double decker bus to deliver your goods.
