Sunflowers Too Day Nursery

Come and look at our market stall in pre-school. We have had lots of fun role playing measuring and weighing using real life fruit and vegetables. The children have been incorporating numbers using the scales and pretend money :)

The big toddlers have created a new & natural sensory area for the children to explore all the different textures ☺️

Happy Valentines day to you all ❤️ we have all got involved today by wearing something red or pink! Today the big toddlers have had lots of fun decorating their love hearts by gluing and sticking pink and red pieces on. They also had lots of fun telling the story of Goldilocks and the three bears using the props 🌻

Happy Chinese new year everyone! Today the baby toddlers have had lots of fun this morning using a variety of Chinese resources and utensils such as chop sticks and a wok and bowl, along with red coloured noodles - exploring with their hands by filling and emptying, whilst the preschool children danced around to Chinese music using the Chinese dragon head. Also all the children had a yummy food tasting of Chinese food such as; chicken stir fry noodles, prawn crackers, vegetable spring rolls and chicken pieces with dipping sauce!

The preschool children have had lots of fun wrapping up warm this morning to head out to play in the snow. Lots of excited children making snow angels and "Steve" the snowman! ⛄️❄️

The baby toddlers have had lots of fun in experiencing the sensory water beads with the ducks and the frogs, incorporating our counting skills by singing along to "5 little speckle frogs" :)

The Baby Toddlers have been creating pictures using a variety of media and materials following the child's interest such as "favourite colour" Great creations baby toddlers using your gross motor skills. :)

Another fab Paediatric First Aid Course for Sunflowers Ladies ran by Charley of New Life First Aid Training. Great practical sessions and bang up to date information, making us all more confident in our practice. Thank you Charley 🌻

Babies have been learning simple signing this week with Caroline :)

On Tuesday in Pre-School they enjoyed creating an obstacle course challenging their balancing skills over and under obstacles. They also enjoyed using the spray paint bottles to create lovely pictures and discussed the colours and what was happening when they mixed together :)

Pre-School have enjoyed using the scissors to create a range of lines and shapes for our fine motor skills. We did brilliantly at this, Well Done :)

Yesterday the Babies had lots of fun exploring spaghetti and paint. Lots of movements using the whole body to mix the colours and create marks :) All the Babies LOVED this activity.

It is with great pride in my fantastic Sunflowers Skydivers and to everyone who supported them, that I can tell you we raised £3083 for Dove House Hospice. This was helped by two Sunflowers Tree children who forfeited Birthday presents and asked for donations for Dove House at their party, so touched by this 😊 Our final total raised in 2018 for Dove House Hospice in memory of my Mum, Kitty Wilson and Sue’s son, Michael Shakesby is a tremendous £5213.93!!!! Thank you very, very much to all of you who sponsored, bought cakes, had a dance & wiggle and who bought raffle tickets, amazing and so proud, Karen 🌻

Just a little information about the next couple of weeks at nursery! 🎄🎅

Lots of fun dressing up for children in need today,more fun activities making pudsey masks and making yummy smartie buns! :)

Today the Big Toddlers have had lots of fun decorating their own pudsey bears using different resources such as, glue, yellow tissue paper, pencils, felt tips and glitter! We have also had lots of fun baking cakes for our cake sale to raise money for children in need. Also don't forget the children that will be attending nursery tomorrow you can wear spots, anything pudsey themed and pj's are all welcome :) 😊
