loved every minute of it especially the farm and the mondays.

User

We travelled up from Manchester, and was well worth the trip. Lovely little festival and a great vibe.

User

We travelled down from Edinburgh not knowing what to expect, went to both days and was impressed by the line up of both days. People knocking the line up on Friday, really a 16 piece band as apposed to a live p.a. As good as Heather was incognito were exceptional in there musicianship and you can see why they still tour the world. Saturday was great and the Farm better than I expected. Being a Mondays fan I knew what to expect but again I was blown away by

Shaun and the guys. If I could make a suggestion or two I would bring in local brewers instead of the generic beers and for next year try to get Johnny Marr or New Order for Saturday. See you in 2018.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed myself yesterday. First year I have been and will definitely be going to other ones as the atmosphere was fantastic. Bands wise some of the less famous bands were better than the headlining acts. Social Room were outstanding as were Veto and the Genfactor winners. The Mondays and The Farm were great when they played the tracks everyone knew but were less so with the infill tracks. One gripe was the drinks. Only beer, cider or Pimms? What's that all about? Where was the prosecco? Next time can we have an outlet for us ladies who like to drink bubbles. Oh and more loos. Other than that well done to all those who organised it as I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

User

The bands on Saturday were great, the beer prices were reasonable and it was great having the big screen there so we could watch the England game. It was a shame there wasn't a more varied food offering though - no pizza option unless I missed it. Also a shame that The Lightning Seeds cut their set short a bit - could it not have gone on a little longer. Overall though, an excellent day out.

User

The acts, the food vendors, the local pubs and restaurants in fact everything was perfect. What an experience at a fraction of the price I've paid for events that weren't a patch on Sunniside Live. And as a local resident ( we live yards from the entrance to the event) I can say that we had no disruption and the whole area is now spotless. Role on next year!

User

Saturday was amazing , great atmosphere and great music all day’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

Please donŌĆÖt go

User

Last year was great: music, food/drink & ambience :)

User

It's been a phenomenal day of live bands.

The highlights being Social Room, Farm and the best of all Happy Mondays .

I was a VIP all day and felt really special ’┐Į

User

I went to Fridays concert it was absolutely amazing heather small k klass were fabulous but incognito who are my favourite band were outstanding even got a CD from Bluey himself and signed how happy am I, well done on a fabulous event thank you x

User

Had an amazing time last year and the sun was out! Cannot wait for this years event!

User

Great day on the saturday and perfect weather again. i love the setting of sunniside. could have been more bars but i was loving the moretti for only 4 quid.

definitely looking forward to next year.

User

Fabulous day/night yesterday the atmosphere, the music and the people!!

User

Fabulous afternoon/evening. This was largely due for me the fact the Brand New Heavies were playing.

Great weather, fab music and great venue. I will say though they could have done better on the bar provisions. Bottle bar ran dry and main bar massive queues. This should have been better planned.

User

Excellent weekend! CanŌĆÖt wait to see the lineup for next year!

User

Deffo be there next year. It's was like being in another place. Shame bar justice sams bar and gin and bear wasn't packed like that every weekend . Totally reminded me of jesmond . Keep it up. Music was fab just shame there's wasn't more bars inside as there was a half an hour wait For a drink at some points of the day.

User

Brilliant

User

Best thing to happen to Sunniside just what this city needs can't wait for next year bigger and better!!

User

Another great day out , thought the bar couldŌĆÖve been bigger but didnŌĆÖt Q for too long . Reverend & The Makers stole the show , see you next year ’┐Į

User

Amazing yet again thank you ’┐Į

User

venue was ok I guess but where are all the scruffs out of the norfolk going to pass out on the floor while this is on, passing out in a puddle of stripey yawn facilities very lacking. #prayforskrets

User

This was my 2nd year attending this event and was slightly disappointed this year, the drinks token... why was that brought in cash worked fine last year no need for tokens, choice of drinks was an absolute joke very limited and ran out of lemonade early on so couldnŌĆÖt even have a gin . I had to drink strong bow cider most of the night because thatŌĆÖs all there was other than prosecco that I liked. We should have had the same selection and amount the VIP ticket holders had. Toilet queues were much better this year and fairly clean there were people keeping on top of them. Overall it was a good day/ night fab atmosphere, this is an event I look forward to each year just hope the drink situation is better next year x

User

Music great last night, but choice of drinks poor, no water at the bar and one lager on tap

User

I attended the Friday evening but I thought Heather Small could have been on longer, she was the main act, a lot of people went after her show which was a shame, longer next time please

User

Great set up and organisation. Heather small was absolutely amazing BUT she should have been on much longer and been the main act - such an amazingly talented lady even after all these years, totally had the crowd going and should have played more! Igognito were total let down, hung around hoping for better and watched many people leaving and then eventually left myself. A shame as I had planned to stay until the end

User

Great loved every minute

User

Great event with some fantastic performances. Some good food stands and good prices on drinks. Would have got five stars if only the toilet situation was better. Not enough portaloos for 4000 visitors and staff, the men's urinal was not adequately signposted and was full and overflowing on Friday night and didn't get emptied until approx. 9pm on Saturday night. No hand wash facilities, sanitising gels etc which is absolutely necessary when you are providing food and drinks at a venue. Hopefully you can rectify these next year as it was the only let down, except Heather Small not being the proper headliner and therefore performing longer. ’┐Į

User

went on Friday .the drink token thing being a new idea we been coming every yr since started.1.went for our drinks waited in queue to be told off a very rude woman no only lager here!spirits van all the way over other side of venue !2.no tonic no ice no lemon !.3 food was very poor this yr .3.better toilet situation .4 good Prosecco bar .I think shud of been 2 spirit bars one on either side of venue .4.very well organised no trouble

User

We came last year and loved it so bought tickets months ago for this year. Really annoyed to find out people were getting tickets for ┬Ż10 or 2 for 1. This was just the beginning of a string of things that has made us reconsider returning next year....

the bar situation was ridiculous. The layout was terrible and the selection being offered was very limited. Nobody monitoring the queues so people pushing in left right and centre..... we stood for 15 mins in a queue which hardly moved so we gave up and left to go to Bar Justice to watch the football! (Defeating the point of us buying tickets)

There was no ice!!! So after being charged ┬Ż8 for a double rum which was served with warm coke then to be told there was no ice is just not acceptable considering this was early afternoon.

The people manning the ŌĆ£doorsŌĆØ obviously couldnŌĆÖt care less after the football as there were numerous people who had come in to watch the bands saying they didnŌĆÖt have a ticket and nobody checked them. (Infuriating after we paid ┬Ż37.50)

The bands were great but the headline act were only on for 45 minutes .... felt a bit cheated.

DonŌĆÖt get me wrong the atmosphere was great but the layout and ticket situation needs some serious reconsideration going forward

User

Updates about changes was very poor e.g. Not being able to take a bottle of water in. Also, still waiting to hear about what happened to Larkins Band!? Lots of technical problems for the Lightning Seeds set meant only 45 minutes, for headliners; not really good / long enough.

User

My first time Attending and having e mailed x telephoned and spoken face to face was reassured chairs were ok to take and as i cant stand i was really looking forward to the day without discomfort . We were really enjoying it all when they came round everyone after we had been there 3 hours and said we had to fold our chairs and take them out . I was furious and challenged the decision and asked to say the main man as i know the guys wers just following orders . He did come over and after at lot of embarrassment i coukd keep my chair but had to move 2 feet back and then could not see another thing

You cant change your rules half way through an event. Spoilt what was in a very enjoable day until then . Have posted and asked someone to contact me but no joy x

User

First time at Sunniside and came up from Hull as loved the Saturday line up. Overall thought it was very friendly but have a few concerns - was told I couldn't bring in an unopened bottle of water, despite the website saying you could (was even told the website had been changed, which was a lie). I took them back to the car, as only parked round the corner, came back and walked straight in, not even a pat down by security - no wonder there was so much other alcohol in there, just thank god no one brought any weapons, etc in. We go to loads of gigs, at the Rolling Stones last month I even had to take off my hat and open my glasses case and at Leeds Arena they have sniffer dogs going round the queues. And before any of you think I am been harsh here and that "nothing ever happens round here", my wife and step daughter thought the same when they went to see Ariana Grande in Manchester last year (thankfully they came home with only emotional scars). On a hot day there should have been a water point, maybe then there wouldn't have been so many people falling over from drinking - a fair few people there would not have been allowed in a pub or got served elsewhere. I thought that the music was great, plus was brill to see the match on a big screen, although a shame that the Lightning Seeds set was so short.

User

Bought early bird tickets mainly to see Heather Small. she was amazing but her set was too short. Why were Incognito headlining?? The crowd dispersed during their set which was a come down after the buzz created by Heather.

I feel that the ticket prices for Fri/Sat were disproportionate given the that Friday a shorter event with fewer acts. perhaps this is why the organisers were left with so ma tickets and had to rely on a third party t buy up and give away 500 of them rather than cancel. 500 - that accounts for most of last nights crowd. Please learn from this and stop taking the mick out of those who buy tickets in good faith. Its great that we have this event in Sunderland and the effort that goes in to organising it is commendable. Hope today goes well.

User

Gave 2 stars due to the band's being fab, lightning seeds, cast and rev and the makers all top class.

Also full marks to the security and stewards at the front of the stage ¤æŹ gave out bottles of water to anyone who needed them. The dancing made our night ¤śé also very quick to stop any bother.

Sadly the same can't be said for the rest. Already disappointed we had paid full price to find the last few weeks they were giving tickets away, but as I pointed out to organisers that can't be helped as sales were poor but how about giving drinks vouchers to those who paid months ago, my comments completely ignored on Facebook, twitter and via email.

Friday night might aswell have been a right off, The Artful Dodger was the best bit and he was on far too early for too short a set. In fact it was that bad we left and went to watch the match in a pub.

Very very disappointed the Larkins never even appeared I was really looking forward to them as I've had them on Spotify the last few wks. No explanation on why they weren't there. Lightning seeds set was massively cut (at least 5 songs) we have a copy of the set list so I know this for a fact.

Door staff not letting us bring in water even though it says on the website. Even when pointed out there was empty bottles of vodka everywhere their comment was "there can't be, no liquids get past us"¤Öä¤Öä .

Spirit bar , why was that miles away from the rest of the bars? Just made it a real nuisance so drank cider instead, although judging by comments about running out of ice maybe that's a good thing!

All in all very poor. Will not be buying tickets in advance next year that's if we decide to visit again (very doubtful)

User

Can you tell me why I paid ┬Ż90 for 2 VIP tickets to be told you had no green bands left because you weren't scanning the tickets ???? Then to eventually get in to VIP and see a sea of blue bands in here?? What the actual F? What a complete rip off !!! Really badly organised and executed ..

User

Absolutely gutted ’┐Į we had a fabulous time last year, hence we came back, but there seem to have been a lot of changes this year and not for the better, plus everything from the tickets to the food, to the beer has increased in price, but limited beer options, tasteless food and fewer bands, that weren't even introduced on stage?
