New #hen member!

Our oldest flock member Daisy still leading, though she is currently no longer laying and has recently started to suffer from heart conditions due to her age. Daisy will live out the rest of her old age with her flock enjoying her usual chicken activities 🙂

It has been a warm summer this year, the #hens are being treated with ice, watermelon and home frozen vegetables to help cope with the heatwave. During very hot days some of the older hens will not lay #eggs, instead they will use their energy to keep healthy, which is always our number one priority! 🐔🥚

Fresh eggs from free ranging garden chickens. Truly happy hens. Fed organic feeds and greens only. Eggs colour, yolk colour, shells and size (sometimes even shape!) will vary due to various breeds and what they ate at the time.
... I do not give feed that specially enhances yolk colour (artificial), as I choose to feed them as naturally and healthily as possible.

All of my hens have been vaccinated and dewormed against the basic and common poultry illnesses (as standard for their protection).
