In the peaceful sanctuary of this beautiful yurt we stretched, we balanced, we meditated, we ate, we chatted, we shared and we created.
... As always it was an absolute honour to host this space - - our hearts are full to bursting, our bodies rested and our thoughts and intentions back in focus and ready to take it super gently in the direction of whatever 2019 has in store.

Not only is this an ending, It’s a bright new beginning my friends 🕊
First day of the week Last day of the month ... And the last few hours of 2018 ebbing away as I write this.
This year there have been many mountains to climb, but none so great as the ones in my mind. At the start of 2018, I imagined myself here- on the furthest shores I could think of, toes dipping in these seas. And you know what, with a bit of graft, a lot of motivation and a few moons later, there I stood. Warm air on my face, sun on my back and my partner in crime right there by my side.
I’d love to say the whole of the year was like this - freedom, adventure, victory, success, distant shores - but that wouldn’t be painting a true picture.
We’ve had our ups and downs over here, much like any mountaineer. There’s been days I felt I could do ANYTHING and days I could barely lift my bones from the sofa.
Knowing I’m GROWING is the main thing that’s kept me going. Because if you can switch your mindset and think that life is happening FOR you and not TO YOU, well my darling, the world will be your lobster.
So let’s swap the half-hearted resolution for a REVOLUTION in our thinking. One where we wake up each day aware of our power to manifest whatever we want, for whoever needs it, wherever it needs to be done.
Just know that whatever lies ahead for you in 2019 - you will find the courage when you need it, the strength when it’s called for, the vision if you just close your eyes for a moment, the time if you make it. The universe never presents us with anything we can’t handle- so take the reigns and lead from the heart.

Just ordered a load of books and now I'm heading down to the studio to start on a new series of work for a show coming up in February 2019 - more on this very soon ;)

Wonderful time with Ellie... inspiring, creative, lots of laughs... what more can you ask. We came home having had the time and space to explore new creative 'things' and loved every minute!

What a brilliant cyanoprint workshop today. Ellie is a great teacher showing us all the different techniques we could use. And we even got given lots of materials to take home to carry on practicing on.

Loved spending time with Ellie today and indulging in a little creativity. Amazing the insights you can get into your funny little mind given a bit of time and space.... and Ellie is the perfect person to guide you on the journey.

Just finished the Get Plastered course with AbiLu. Absolutely fabulous! You don't need any experience, you get right stuck in...literally! So proud of my tiles and am planning to do some more at home.

Just completed my last of five gorgeous sessions of Ellie's Art&Mind class. I highly recommend to anyone looking to add some creative 'me time' to their week. I loved that each week I learnt not only a new craft skill but also a little more about myself. I look forward to more classes in the future. Thank you Ellie!

Jane Davies taught a small group of us some watercolour techniques today, and it was great! Ellie was on hand too, was very pleasant and helpful. I totally recommend going to one of the classes offered, and I'm looking forward to going back again �

I’ve been going to SAS for nearly a year now and absolutely adore it! It’s so hard to find a space which brings mindfulness and art together in such a genuine way. I can’t thank Ellie enough for creating such a gorgeous space and offering such a variety of different arts and crafts to get stuck into.

I’d highly recommend everyone, regardless of skill to get your hands dirty and rediscover your inner creative!

It was friend's birthday and we wanted to do something special so we booked a Mono Printing workshop with Ellie and we had a fabulous time! Ellie made us feel so welcome and we spent a wonderful few hours discovering the joy of printing using natural materials and fab colours. We didn't want the morning to end. Would highly recommend if you are looking for lovely and creative to do for a special occasion. Thanks Ellie x

I've just finished a beginners lino print course with Ellie and loved it. Ellie is an excellent teacher and took us all through the process in a clear and fun way. I feel thoroughly inspired by what I have learnt and I hope to do more of Ellie's classes in the future.

I've just been to the Modern Calligraphy course with Leanda and loved it! I had a wonderful morning in a relaxed and calm environment learning a new skill that hopefully I can continue to improve upon. I would highly recommend this course. Ellie and Surrey Arts School are a joy � Thank you.

I've done a couple of workshops with SAS (so far!) and loved both of them! Already booked onto a few more �



The Modern Calligraphy for beginner's was a great way to get back into an old hobby. Leanda explained everything throughly and the actual experience was surprisingly meditative! You even come away with all the tools you need to continue your practice which is a lovely touch. Can't wait for the improvers course.



The Mandala & Yoga Retreat was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday treating yourself to some self care. We've all seen the mandala colouring books but knowing how to create your own mandala is a lovely thing to learn. I'm not quite at the mandala-a-day stage but regular practice has been brilliant for stress relief! Combining this with a yoga session with Glo Yoga out in a field on the Surrey Hills...wow! Just beautiful!



Whatever you chose to do at SAS you will find a peaceful space to create, de-stress and switch off from the world around you. Ellie and the team of teachers are wonderfully inspiring and helpful.

I'm attending Ellie's Sketchbook club/art class once every two weeks & it makes my week each time. Learning how to draw in a super relaxed atmosphere with Ellie's positive vibes is simply great. I feel empowered after every class because turns out everyone can draw! This class is a MUST! <3

I had an amazing time on the junk jewellery course. I learnt some fantastic techniques and created a stunning statement necklace. AbiLu is a brilliant, patient and talented teacher.

I have been using the techniques I learnt to create pieces at home and am thoroughly enjoying it !! Thanks so much �

I adore every minutes spent at SAS. The new studio is a calm haven. Before my first drawing session (Mandala Classes, 2017), I'd believed for years that I had no artistic talent, but after 2 hours of teaching from Ellie and Kat I found that wow I actually could create something (reasonably) beautiful! It was a real confident boost and I have been drawing and creating ever since.

Having the best time at sketchbook club learning new skills and how to really 'look'. Ellie is a great teacher who challenges you to see things differently and not be afraid of the blank page.

Had an amazing class doing cyanotype masterclass today. Ellie is so fab at teaching and letting you run with your own ideas. Could have stayed all day as it is so therapeutic.



Never tried a class - book one today!

Family and I just spent a lovely afternoon doing leaf casts with Abi. Three generations getting messy - great fun! Will definitely book more classes and workshops. Thank you.

Emma and I loved experimenting with techniques today at the Jane Davies Watercolour workshop. Can't wait to try out more! A lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Thank you Jane and Ellie

Attended first day of get into print course. Was impressed with the teaching and amazed how much I learned and produced within the 3 hours. Will definitely be watching out for more of their classes.
