Surrey Artists' Open Studios

SAOS is a resource provision for artists in Surrey and has been born out of the success of Surrey Artists Open Studios. Open Studios offer the public direct access to artists and makers and gives you a valuable insight into the world of the artist.

Open Studios events take place in the UK and abroad. They have been established to help promote artists and their art practice. These events encourage artists to open up their studios to the public, whether in a group or as an individual. Participating artists may offer workshops, demonstrations of their art practice, work to commission and work for sale. Open Studios covers a broad spectrum of visual arts, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, design, film and photography. Some Open Studios events display a key body of work; others are more varied covering a range of visual arts. Some offer radical artwork whilst others offer more traditional or commercial styles. These events have proved very popular for visitors, providing a great way to meet artists and gain an insight into their working practice. For artists this offers a valuable opportunity to raise their profile and develop new skills in promoting their art.

Surrey Open Studios:
Studio locations are all over Surrey, from exciting commercial townships to our beautiful Surrey rural villages in the heart of Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There is such a diverse variety of work including print-making, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, painting, wood-turning, sculpture, illustration, glass work and much more.
