For a growing family living in bustling London, we created this built-in chalkboard that not only provides an area for children to get creative but also serves as the perfect shopping list space!

A good little tip when designing and choosing your new kitchen is to go with a design that enhances the room's features, doesn't block out any natural light and gives you sufficient storage without filling every space.
With a gorgeous set of Georgian windows already flooding the room with light, we had to make the most of the original features in this heritage kitchen
When it came to repurposing the chimney arches, we opted for an @aga_cookers range in one, a storage cabinet... in another, while part of the cabinetry is housed in the third one.
Meanwhile the original stone flooring adds to the classic, relaxed, lived-in look the homeowner was keen to pursue.

Not only do household plants serve as beautiful and sustainable home décor, but they can also help purify your air and increase humidity (a particularly appealing benefit in the dry winter months).
If you don’t have worktop space in your kitchen, consider hanging one as there will always be a way to incorporate plants in to your kitchen space.

Getting side-lined by the aesthetics of your new kitchen is easy to do, after all, who doesn’t love a mood board and an array of tester pots?
But before you go down a Pinterest rabbit hole, remember to give the layout some careful thought.
To avoid ending up with a badly planned kitchen, there are three very important questions that you should be asking yourself:
... 1. How will you move around your kitchen? Elements that you often use at the same time, such as the fridge and cooking station, should be close together so that you avoid walking around in circles.
2. Where will you prepare food? Next to the hob and oven? This will determine where you will put the majority of your worktop space.
3. How much storage do you use? Think about whether you need more than what you currently have and what you need to store.

For this busy family home in Bristol, the open-planned space remains connected through the use of clever colour and cabinetry.
Two-tone hand-painted cabinets have contrasting turquoise handles - a shade that’s picked up in the island centrepiece. An informal eating and seating area with comfy grey armchairs looks out onto the garden through bifold doors, creating a kitchen we’d happily cosy-up in.
