The kitchen is the 💚 of the home and we consider all aspects of family life when designing yours.
For a growing family living in bustling London, we created this built-in chalkboard that not only provides an area for children to get creative but also serves as the perfect shopping list space!
What would you write (or draw) on your kitchen chalkboard?

A good little tip when designing and choosing your new kitchen is to go with a design that enhances the room's features, doesn't block out any natural light and gives you sufficient storage without filling every space.
With a gorgeous set of Georgian windows already flooding the room with light, we had to make the most of the original features in this heritage kitchen
When it came to repurposing the chimney arches, we opted for an @aga_cookers range in one, a storage cabinet... in another, while part of the cabinetry is housed in the third one.
Meanwhile the original stone flooring adds to the classic, relaxed, lived-in look the homeowner was keen to pursue.

In our joinery workshop, it’s the human touch that sets us apart.
We believe that every kitchen deserves individual care and attention to detail – and that includes hand-finishing every unit to the highest standard.
So once your new kitchen is installed by our experienced team, expect a visit from our fine furniture painter Lottie. She will apply a final coat across all of your kitchen by hand.
... Lottie paints in the direction of the grain of the wood, to work sympathetically with the beautiful materials underneath. Her attention to detail is second to none and ensures that you’ll be more than satisfied with the new hub of your home.
As a service that is unique to Sustainable Kitchens, this is something that will really set your new kitchen apart from the rest. ✨.

Not only do household plants serve as beautiful and sustainable home décor, but they can also help purify your air and increase humidity (a particularly appealing benefit in the dry winter months).
If you don’t have worktop space in your kitchen, consider hanging one as there will always be a way to incorporate plants in to your kitchen space.

Natural doesn’t have to mean neutral.
The wooden elements - which are front and centre to this decorative palette – add warmth to cabinetry painted in Farrow and Ball’s Down Pipe.
From exposed floorboards and beams to wooden kitchen cabinetry, timber veneers and reclaimed décor, almost every surface in your home can have a natural finish.

Getting side-lined by the aesthetics of your new kitchen is easy to do, after all, who doesn’t love a mood board and an array of tester pots?
But before you go down a Pinterest rabbit hole, remember to give the layout some careful thought.
To avoid ending up with a badly planned kitchen, there are three very important questions that you should be asking yourself:
... 1. How will you move around your kitchen? Elements that you often use at the same time, such as the fridge and cooking station, should be close together so that you avoid walking around in circles.
2. Where will you prepare food? Next to the hob and oven? This will determine where you will put the majority of your worktop space.
3. How much storage do you use? Think about whether you need more than what you currently have and what you need to store.
We guarantee that you’ll fall even more in love with your kitchen once these have been covered off 😉.

A large part of our home lives is spent opening and closing cabinets, cupboards, and drawers, without much thought being spared for the details – the knobs and handles – accompanying the act.
Knobs and handles are the hallmark of great kitchen cabinet hardware and regardless of the style and scale of your kitchen you too can achieve editorial standards in all the right places.
Rustic or refined, classic or cutting-edge contemporary, your kitchen cabinets are the perfect backdrop upon which to place your individual signature.

Make this Mother’s Day a memorable one by celebrating in the most delicious way possible; with desserts.
But instead of heading out for cream tea and cakes, why not create your own? After all, nothing says ‘I love you Mum' more than a thoughtfully prepared homemade dessert.
To give you a helping hand, we’ve dug out the recipe for these sumptuous Chocolate Earl Grey Pots, which includes a hint of vanilla and maple syrup instead of sugar for an extra velvety texture. Here’s how you can make your own: https://bit.ly/2tPh3KC.

Kitchens are where we cook, eat, entertain and socialise, so it’s important to create a space that ticks all these boxes. After all, who wants to be lonely in the heart of the house?
For this busy family home in Bristol, the open-planned space remains connected through the use of clever colour and cabinetry.
Two-tone hand-painted cabinets have contrasting turquoise handles - a shade that’s picked up in the island centrepiece. An informal eating and seating area with comfy grey armchairs looks out onto the garden through bifold doors, creating a kitchen we’d happily cosy-up in.

User

As the centrepiece of the kitchen, an island provides additional worktop space for cooking, extra storage space and make great informal dining spaces for breakfasts and coffees. But what we love the most is that it makes the kitchen feel like the ❤️ of the home.
To showcase our appreciation, here’s a medley of some recent favourites.

Only Farrow & Ball Chappell Green could be the right fit for this Cotswold Chapel Kitchen.
Layered with oak accents and harmonious hues, the @rayburn range, slate splashback and exposed shelves complete this traditional farmhouse kitchen✨
The final touch? A furry friend of course.

Every kitchen we create expresses an artistic quality that stands the test of time.
Timeless design doesn’t pull from trends; it is neither avant-garde, fussy, ornate nor opulent. In fact, timeless décor resists these trends and underpins our own design ethos:
💡 It was not created to be temporary.
... 💡 It’s not a fleeting trend or a fad.
💡 It’s a style that belongs to both its space and its environment.
💡 It’s made from sustainable materials that have been created to last.
💡 It merits lasting recognition.
This exquisite kitchen is a Houzz favourite and if you love it too, head on over to our portfolio to see the entire project. https://bit.ly/2Usr77W
