About Sutton Hall

Here at Sutton Hall we have a wide variety of dishes along with a dedicated Gluten Free menu,

We are a dog friendly restaurant but only allow them in certain areas of the restaurant,

We do get rather busy so we’d always recommend booking!

Sutton Hall Description

Imagine creating a pub out of a 480 year old manor house, family home of the Earls of Lucan and a former convent. You’ll find nooks and crannies everywhere, with a snug, a library and a warren of seven different dining areas, with plenty of terraces and gardens to enjoy the sun. Sutton Hall is a proper pub: the atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious, we have a simple dedication to quality, and we hope it’s going to blow your socks off.

food was amazing 100% recommend to anyone

User

Wonderful setting, wonderful food and service.

User

Wonderful place, lovely staff and food to die for. Had a lovely family roast there today. Definitely going back!

User

Went for the first time last night and loved it! Great food and very good service, looking forward to our next visit already.

User

We visited in the afternoon and had tea and a chocolate brownie, which I can say was the nicest I have tasted. The building was fantastic, very interesting with loads of unusual original items, and beautiful pannelled walls.

We sat outside in a lovely garden in the sun. The owner and all staff were lovey and very friendly and helpful.

Would definitely recommend and will be going again myself.

User

We just had lunch there and we were all pleased with our meals and the service. The food is excellent; well worth a return trip.

User

Visited today and had a great time! We did the Easter Peter Rabbit trail which was really lovely and well thought out - each little section was beautifully decorated. Plus it helped us see the whole place as never been before! Staff were all really friendly, relaxed and helpful and the food was great. Will definitely be back!!

User

Very disappointed to find that the Christmas Fayre menu wasn’t available when it is advertised to be running until 31st December??

Overall poor service

User

Top staff top food lovely setting couldn't want more from a first meal out as a married couple plus they made our dogs very welcome too top notch guys 👍🏼 Thank you 👍🏼

User

Riast beef dinner & sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommended

User

Place is always busy, which is usually a good indicator. Friendly staff, varied seasonal menu with dietary menus for those with food allergies. Recommend gluten free chocolate brownies to die for!

User

Pierced ears barmaid a bit off, but other than that a beautiful house restaurat bar indeed. My falafel were burnt to a crisp, but never mind. Very pretty surroundings and one of the best bar type places I've been to. Certainly worth the trip.

User

My wife and daughter organized a surprise birthday party for me. There were 10 of us for Sunday lunch with around 25 more coming for drinks later.

The food was spot on, all freshly cooked on hot plates and all of us served at the same time.

Service was excellent for drinks as well as food.

Special mention to Dave behind the bar, Hannah, Aimee,Louise,Jade and the rest of the team you did fablous.

Syd they did you proud.

User

Lovely food, great selection. Great value. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely go again.

User

Love this place, bring a rug when it's sunny and pitch up for the day with the kids. Great food, like I can't rave more about the food, nice selection of drinks and lovely staff

User

Love this place!

User

Just there this past weekend a fantastic pub, I highly recommend!!

User

Impressive inside, nice outside in good weather. Dog friendly.

User

I've been many times and always found the service and food really good, sometimes it's worth waiting a little while for the food to be freshly cooked. I was there last weekend when it was very hot, we sat outside and it was so nice, lots of people enjoying the sun, there were a good many dogs there which are always welcome inside and outside, water bowls were left out for them. It's definitely a five for me

User

I was there with the Stockport Ramblers on 4 July we experienced great service; our food order was taken and was ready when we finished our walk, food and great staff service was excellent .I have eaten there 3x this month and always delighted with the food and service.

User

I can't find any fault with this place. A lovely setting. Friendly, efficient staff. Quality food, reasonably priced. They even allow dogs in the bar- that gets them a big Brownie point from me- but if you don't like dogs the place has different rooms so that you don't have to go near them.

User

Had lunch for first time at Sutton Hall...what a fabulous experience! It's the best food I've ever had and I have ate at some impressive establishments. Service, food, restaurant was fantastic. Would highly recommend and needless to say I will be going again 😊

User

Fantastic food and really lovely staff too.

User

Fabulous place, very welcoming. Board games for the kids and the best sticky toffee pudding ! Thankyou Sutton Hall.

User

Fab night at the gin tasting night! Very interesting, lovely gin to try and the food was good too. Well done. Cheers to more nights like this!

User

Can’t thank everyone at Sutton enough for a wonderful family day celebrating our mum’s birthday. Wonderful food, a superb room (giving children and adults alike the space they need!) and amazing service by the young man who looked after us all afternoon. Things you just don’t hear anywhere else: despite being a buffet-style afternoon tea “would you like me to bring the tea now, I don’t want it to stew” (*many places wouldn’t even know you could stew tea). And abject horror when a lady with a dog walked through our room/group with her dog ...all the children loved seeing the dog, but the young man was mortified she may have disrupted our party. The best family event I’ve attended, thanks to your lovely accommodation, wonderful food and caring service. Please do thank the young man who looked after the Naylor/Challender party, he deserves a bonus. We’ll be back!

User

Can't fault it, service and friendliness of the staff... Would recommend it to anybody

User

Brilliant food Brilliant service

User

Beautiful warm welcome, my first visit and won't be the last. Staff courteous and helpful food fantastic and reasonably priced. Lovely surroundings inside very clean and dog friendly too. Can not fault this beautiful building or the warm atmosphere within. Loved it and will be a regular visitor from now on!

User

Beautiful rustic place in a wonderful setting. Fantastic, polite and caring staff.. And doggy can go along too

User

Always find the staff are polite and friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere and food is really good too.

User

A beautiful setting for a special birthday party for family . We were able to use the Earl Room and it made the get together very magical! The staff were all very attentive and nobody went without a drink! The food was served quickly and efficiently and everyone at the meal thought the food was amazing!

A massive thank you to everyone at Sutton Hall for making this a perfect venue for a wonderful party!!!

User

Really nice celebration Sunday lunch - given how busy it was service was really friendly and good. Nice Sunday food, good ales and I'm told good wine 🍷 nice location too

User

Beautiful setting and pub. Good fresh for and friendly attentive staff. Recommended

User

Beautiful garden, prices not as steep as I thought they would be (although not cheap), absolutely stunning inside. Very well worth a visit.

User

Always enjoy Sutton Hall, good food and fantastic staff.

User

The food is good as opposed to great.

Location, building and decor is very good.

The service is poor to dreadful and the prices are ridiculous, £4.50 for grapefruit juice and tonic water is higher than a 5 star hotel.

User

Very disappointed that they wouldn’t accommodate a booking of 20 for a meal on a Saturday afternoon in June! Sheer greed, that they would turn away a very profitable booking, in the hope that the weather will bring more people than those in the booking!

User

Sutton Hall is a lovely place, we had a table booked but had to wait for staff to find where we was seated. No menus given to us, had to go to the bar to get menus and place order. Staff were friendly, but service was a little slow. Place wasn't that busy. Good was fab.I would visit again but only if in the area.
