Armed Forces Day 2019 - Salisbury Event “It has been a privilege to facilitate this community project to make a celebratory piece of textile marking Armed Forces Day National Event 2019.The 18 community groups all began the project with the same initial brief, time scale, materials and colour palette. They have produced such individual and poignant pieces. It has been a fascinating and moving experience seeing how each group focused on their area’s relationship with the Armed Forces within their local community.The 18 pieces culminate in a representation of the many stories of both past and present history of Wiltshire – a wonderful legacy.”

The story behind the wonderful creative textile piece that I have been involved in. What an honour and wonderful to see the final result. The piece can be viewed this weekend in Salisbury City Council's People's Lounge, Hudson's Field.

The home of the puttee, Coldharbour Mill was one of the mills owned by Fox Bros, Wellington, at which the puttees were originally made.
