I used to be a rail enthusiast in my youth and I travelled on this preserved railway line, when I was a child on one occasion.

Last Friday I returned to the line to get away from the hectic and stressful life I live these days. It was one of the best days I have experienced this year. A worthy and memorable day out. Full credit goes to all of the staff and volunteers, who without their effort. My enjoyable day wouldn't have be possible.

The idea for the 1940s weekend was a perfect way to make my aesthetic trip all that worthwhile. The authenticity of all of the recreation of the time period was inspiring. How I wish I had left my mobile phones at home. So I could have relived a era of my parent's generation, of a time period when people communicated on a more direct personal involvement. A era when it was the best of times and a war which the British spirit overcame the atrocity, which without all of those involved. The world would be a radical different place today. But without my mobile phones, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to take as many photos and videos that I did.

I also experienced the Sunday service which was a excellent produced day out. Although due to my mistimed disorganized plan of the day, I missed the battle at Highley. But despite that setback. I still managed to have a grand day out. The wedding at Arley was planned and executed well. The opening act of a minute's silence to remember all of those who sacrificed their lives was a touching and respected tribute. To all the volunteers, staff and members of the public a big thank you for making this day another memorable outing.

I strongly recommend to anyone who is taking a interest for the first time in this excellent well preserved railway line. To plan ahead and make the most of savouring every area of this awesome tourist attraction. To all of the regular fans, keep coming. Without your donation of contributions, membership fees and purchase of tickets. It wouldn't be possible to keep this historic vision alive. To all staff and volunteers keep up the good work. Without your time and effort, it wouldn't be possible to enjoy what I regard as my pure innocent escapism. Many congrulations on your determined valuable hard work. Your efforts make me look forward to my next visit.
