Details of shop closure...
When we opened our bike shop 6 years ago our intention was to sell bicycles and accessories whilst offering some service and repair work. Sadly the cycling industry has experienced a big decline in bicycle sales over the last few years and we, like many other independent shops, have lost many of the remaining sales to the internet. The workshop side of the business has been growing year on year and has been doing well but sadly this too will not be... sustainable in the long term. Many customers have already started asking to supply their own parts and asking us to price match the big online sellers. The importing and selling of cheaper after market parts being sold as loss leaders online will just take away another vital form of income that bicycle workshops rely on to survive.
Other factors that have played a big part in the decision are the two burglaries that caused us so much upset and the planned closure of the bridge into Bardney this spring. The 3 month closure would have blocked access for at least half of our customers during a traditionally busy time. This is why we are closing now instead of at the end of the summer.
We have not taken this decision lightly but we would rather make this decision ourselves now than have one forced upon us further down the line.
We will be spending the next few weeks selling off our remaining stock and our last day will be on Thursday February 28th. We will still carry out service and repairs for the next two weeks but booking is essential. All our stock needs to go so everything we currently have in store will be sold at cost price from now until we close. We will try and post up some clearance bikes and accessories on our Facebook page but please call in and see if you can grab yourself a bargain and help us clear what’s left.
We would like to say thank you to all the people that have supported us over the years, we really are very grateful. Many of you have become friends and we will still see you around but for those that we don’t see then we wish you all the best and hope you keep on cycling.

We would like to thank all our customers for supporting us in 2018 and wish you all a Happy New Year! We are closed now until Wednesday Jan 2nd when our normal hours resume.
As the year comes to an end what has 2018 been like for us? The repeat business and referrals keep on coming so it shows us that we have been doing something right. The increase in service and repair work has meant our workshop is getting busier year on year with last year being the best year yet. We will... always endeavour to complete work quickly and efficiently but pre booked work will always take priority so please book in advance wherever possible.
In 2019 we will continue to sell Whyte, Wilier and Raleigh bikes and with the recent addition of Lapierre our cycle range will have something for everyone. We believe theses brands offer style, innovation and great value for money for all riders.
It has been and will continue to be a very hard time for the retail and cycling industry so your ongoing support is crucial for our survival. If you want us stay open for years to come then all we ask is that you please try and shop local when you can and if you have the time at least give your local shop a chance to quote before ordering online. We can usually compete on prices but we simply don’t have the budget to be top of the internet searches like the big companies. You will never get the care or personal service online that we and other small independent shops will give you because we do truly care and your business is very important to us.
We hope 2019 is a great year for you and we hope to be a part of what ever form your cycling takes.

Lovely report back from one of our first customers to have Tannus airless tyres fitted. With at least 6000 puncture free miles ahead of her Joanne doesn’t just benefit from puncture free cycling she now has no more tyre pressures to check before a ride! Prices range from £55-£60 per tyre and are £15 each to fit but the savings on inner tubes and time at the side of the road is totally worth it!
