Introduction
Swaledale Seedlings is a community based charity that is run by parents and volunteer helpers for the benefit of all pre-school children and parents living in the Two Dales area.

What is Seedlings all about?
Swaledale Seedlings benefit from a wide range of activities that we organise and supervise. We hold regular (term time)Playgroup sessions - ‘Stay and Play’ for 0-2’s and ‘Potting On’ for over 2’s as well as regular Holiday Club events that are subsidised or in many cases free. Every group member will receive our regular club e-zine and can join us on our Facebook page.
Where and when are the group events held?
Seedlings pre-school play sessions are held every (term time) Monday and Thursday morning from 9. 30am to 11. 30am in Reeth Memorial Hall on Arkengarthdale Road, next to Reeth Garage. These sessions are facilitated by our play leader who is assisted by parent helpers. Other holiday and special occasion events are made available to members throughout the year at various locations.
What does a play session consist of?
A programme of indoor and outdoor events and themed play sessions is planned by our play leader. Details of this can be found in our regular members’ e-zine newsletter and via the Seedlings website at www. swaledale-seedlings.org. Each session will have age appropriate toys, games and activities to stimulate, educate and entertain your children. A healthy snack with drink for the children and Tea /Coffee for the parents is provided at each session.
Who can come to Seedlings and what are the costs?
EVERYONE IS WELCOME at Seedlings and we look to provide as much for as many. There are three age groups within Seedlings:
• ‘Stay and Play’ – for parents with children from birth to 1yr. You can enjoy all the Seedlings facilities including a wide range of baby toys, play sessions and events and meet other local parents and children. £1. 00 per session.
• ‘Seedlings’ – for parents and children from 12 months to 2 years. With a programme of activities, a wide range of educational and fun toys, parents and children will flourish and discover new friends and start to develop independence. £2. 00 per session.
• ‘Potting On’ – for children from 2 years to 4 years. With a programme of activities, a wide range of educational and fun toys, your children will flourish and discover independence in this safe and stimulating environment supervised by our play leader and a parent helper. £4. 00 per session.
Discounts are available for parents with more than one Seedling and those with special circumstances.
