Our kitchen manager Julie (the one that bakes the amazing cakes!) had some bad news this weekend. Some little piece of work stole her sons bike and as you can imagine he is devastated.
Here’s a picture as it’s quite distinctive. If anyone sees it or has any information as to its whereabouts, please let us know. It’s been reported to the boys in blue too.

Seaweed...lots of seaweed...help yourselves (but no lorries or vehicles on the beach please)

User

We had to close early today because of the weather but we’re hoping, if we can battle the elements, to be back tomorrow.
If you want something a little less weather dependent, the Greenhouse is offering it’s Free Food Friday again tomorrow and is open for tapas tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. Meat, fish, vegan or vegetarian grub for your delight.

User

Parking in Swanpool car park is now FREE until the end of February. Obviously that isn't extended to any commercial vehicles from the nearby housing development...
Please share with your friends.

User

They haven’t been away as such, but with the weather turning just a little, they’re most definitely back!!
Re-introducing, the Quirky Hot Chocolate!

User

We suggest that you look seaward when you’re down at Swanpool next... 😭

User

Do you like seaweed? After the recent storms we have the worlds supply washed up on the beach so feel free to come and help yourself (for whatever it is people do with seaweed). Alternatively, we are now back open and serving up our usual goodies from the cafe.

User

Swanpoolians! We’ll be closed today and tomorrow because of this pesky storm. It’s pretty spectacular to look at but please stay safe people.
Instead of a faithful ciabatta, we suggest you gorge yourself on oysters (or visit our little greenhouse restaurant where it’s nice and dry)

User

More Friday madness from our friends at the Greenhouse tomorrow: spend what you think the food is worth! (Daytime only I’m afraid, our evening is normal price as it nearly killed our chefs last week!)

User

it’s FREE FOOD FRIDAY at the Greenhouse today! Pay for your drinks and whatever you think the food is worth!
Our friends at the Greenhouse are open from 9-3 and then 6.30 - 9 today so if it’s meat, fish, vegan or vegetarian food that takes your fancy, give it a go!
I can only hope people order a lot of booze... 😂

A few people have been asking about our little in town venture and what it’s all about. Here’s our lunch menu - tasty stuff and enough vegan, veg and gluten free options to make everyone happy. It’s eat in or takeaway, we’re open everyday and also on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Nice isn’t it?

User

We’re ready for the Red Arrows! Join us for splendid viewing, easy parking and nachos on the beach.

We’re recruiting for a new cafe manager. This is a year round salaried position. Catering experience would be great but not essential - most importantly you’ll have very good experience of running a team and managing people, be happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in to all aspects of the beach and cafe when necessary and generally be a steadying and responsible pair of hands. If you think you could handle this view everyday and have the relevant experience then please send a cover email and cv to hello@swanpoolbeach.co.uk

User

Tomorrow morning the cafe will be closed until 11am. We’re being filmed don’t you know!

User

I don’t know about you but I’m very happy to have a little bit of rain about my person. Don’t say it too loudly, but I’m also a little “over the beach”...at least for a day or so. If you’re feeling the same then give our new little town venture a try - The Greenhouse, lots of good living grub and the option of a cheeky beer and slice of cake too. We’re opposite Trago in case you don’t know already

User

Make the most of this glorious weather, KAYAK HIRE open everyday!

User

Swampool beach lovely proper locals beach lovely cafe , cant believe that there is pay and display now, there is a problem with people parking on the road now so this will get worse in summer as they will get charged to park in the car park but apart from that lovely beach leading onto lovely coastal walks need a bit of discount for locals in cafe and carpark 10 out of 10

Love it

User

One of my favourite beaches. We go most weekends as hubby belongs to the Model Boat Club and they sail their boats on the pond. Pity about the parking meters but we have had it good for many years, sign of the times I guess. If you stay all day it's very good value. Would hate to see the facilities closed, so we must accept.....and enjoy.

User

Loved the beach as we always do. Visiting numerous times. our day was marred when we returned to the car found parking ticket from Armtrac security.

We had purchased a parking ticket for our stay but somehow it had become unstuck from the window screen and had fell into the footwell but was still clearly visible showing date and time. The parking ticket requires payment for £60 increasing to £100.

During our stay we spent £15 at Swanpool kiosk aswell the £4 car park fee.

Feel aggrieved the Swanpool have not bothered to reply to an email I copied them into.

User

Love this place . We always visit Swanpool as its safe for the kids and great for kayaking . Reasonable car park tarif and you get a free cup of tea for using their car park , thumbs up . Great food and drinks , quirky ice creams . See you soon folks

User

Love Swanpool Beach, it's a bonus living just a 10 min stroll away. It did influence the area we chose to live in. Great for a bite at lunchtime or a morning coffee & Tiffin. We tried the Barefoot Dinner in August & will be looking for that again next year. Next step for me is to have a go at Kayaking! Look out Swanpool.

User

I grew up using this beach and I love it mind you I think you might have to move some of the beach back out of the carpark or when the holiday makers get there that will have there towels on it :-)

User

Great beach, not too busy or crowded. Cafe with good quality food and great kayaking out to the small beaches and caves on the edge of the cove. Missing it already!

User

Great beach . Safe and easy to watch the kids . Has kayaks for hire . Bouncy castle and a great cafe . Parking across from the beach too . Good rockpools at low tide

User

Fabulous gorgeous place to go. Safe for children and the cafe is brilliant. We had a deluge of rain while there and huddled under the brollies with huge ice creams. So much fun (ice cream to die for). Didn't park. Walked over from the town. Really close across coastal path which is lovely. Saves problems with tickets! Have parked before though and no problems. One of my favourite places on earth! 5*****

User

Best ice creams served on the beach ever! With swanpool just the other side of the road making it easy to spend some time there.

User

Beautiful place. I came down from Birmingham to spend a few days with my son who's at uni. He and his girlfriend brought me here and I'm so glad they did. Stunning

User

We love it here. It was one of the reasons, along with the footpath, we chose to buy a house up the hill. Shame it is not dog friendly during from Easter Day to 1 October. We have to drive away from home instead of walking down the hill.

User

Small and friendly beach just 6 mins out of falmouth town centre. Beautiful scenery! We went kayaking for a great price (£10/h) and saw all the pretty caves and coast from swnapool to gylly to pedennis - stunning.

User

What's with the pay and display???? Couldn't believe it !?? For locals that come all year round too? Even the council has put a bag over the machine at gyllngvase!! Feel disappointed

User

It was awesome! Everyone should come here, when the weather is good it's just like being abroad. Also come in the Autumn and Winter you'll enjoy the sights and the sounds

User

Not been for years so thought we'd give it a go today. Stunning view but The shore line was full of seaweed so you couldn't swim, I thought the council cleared seaweed???? I found the Cafe extremely over priced, serving cold coffee at £2 and a slice of cake at £2.60(which I didn't have!) the rip off bouncy castle charging £2.50 for 15 mins is disgusting!! We Will find another beach next time.

Spent several weeks in August/September 2017 staying nearby, visiting Swanpool nearly every day and using the beach cafe there. Came back from the beach one day to discover a PCN attached to the windscreen of my car; my parking ticket having been blown down behind a black band around my windscreen. It was still clearly visible yet parking attendant chose not to show it in any photographs of my vehicle taken as evidence. When contacting the company (by telephone and on discovering the PCN) was effectively accused of i). lying and then ii) committing an act of fraud by obtaining someone else's ticket. Fortunately retained every parking ticket for the duration of my entire holiday in Cornwall which will no doubt be produced as evidence in court after today's letter from Armtrac. Owner of beach cafe who has contracted this parking company to manage his car park promised to send clear photographs of signage in the car park as those taken by the attendant were partly obscured in evidence provided online. To date this has not happened thereby necessitating a trip back down to Cornwall to take some of my own. Will I be going back to spend any of my hard earned at Swanpool in the future? No chance. A word or warning to anyone visiting Falmouth - the NM museum in the town would also appear to use the same parking company to manage its car park which, like the one at Swanpool, does not request a registration number before issuing a valid parking ticket nor provides an adhesive sticker to stop your ticket from being dislodged. I cut short my holiday by several days upset at what happened; ironic given that I had only the year before used Swanpool as a shining example of "how to do tourism" when addressing the issue of parking in my hometown of Torquay in a presentation to our local councilors. Whatever happened to the very polite car park attendant who issued your daily parking ticket offering a free cup of tea at the cafe over the road? Looking forward to the court hearing.

User

Over zealous parking enforcement... £60 fines being handed out with careless abandon by Armtrac (a well known local company!!!) used to love it here and as a local have been a regular... Won't be back!

User

Oh dear. Fabulous beach, super cafe and Elemental is great. We've been coming for more than twenty years first as residents of the area and more recently as visitors for the summer holiday. So why the 1 star? Armtrac. If you are there for three hours as I was (Children's sailing lessons) budget for £60 parking per day unless you plan on spending your time watching your watch like a hawk. Overstay and/or leave the car without a ticket and they'll strike in a moment and then hide when you try to find them. They left a ticket stuck to the back door of my car they were in such a hurry to get away. Charming.
