Unfortunately today is the day that Sweatshop Meadowhall has closed.
From the bottom of our hearts we give our upmost thanks to every lovely person and customer that we’ve had the pleasure to kickstart their running journey.
... SRCers we salute you and are proud of your determination through each and every run you have attended.
Thanks to all the reps that have visited us this week, we appreciate the gifts and we will miss you.
To the whole of the South Yorkshire running community, we wish you the best of luck, and from all the staff here at Sweatshop Meadowhall, we hope our paths cross in the future (or Parkrun on Saturday!)

A massive thank you to everyone who came out and ran with us last night and made our final group run so enjoyable!
We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did, and on behalf of all Sweatshop Meadowhall staff both previous and current, cheers for turning up rain, wind or shine and enjoying your running alongside us. (Particular thanks for the kind cards and presents also!).

Next Monday (the 5th) is our last ever SRC run. Therefore, we'd like to extend an invitation to all members to join us for one last hurrah.
So whether you've recently joined, or haven't been back in years, come by on Monday at 6.30pm for a good old fashioned jog and a catch up.
... And once we've finished the run, we'll head out for a coffee, hot chocolate (or tap water!) and get nostalgic about all the miles pounded, PBs smashed and good times had down the years.
The more the merrier, so bring friends, family and anyone who fancies a social run with some laughter thrown in!

SRC update: We are sad to announce that tomorrows run (Monday 15th) is cancelled due to staff sickness. We apologise for the late notice.
Thursday's interval session should still run as normal however - so see you all Thursday for our first run of 2018!

Christmas party update for all you regular SRC members!
We'll be bowling next Monday at Valley Centretainment! Meet inside at 6.45 for a 7pm start.
We'll be playing 2 games (with varying levels of skill!) with a few free drinks thrown in for £17.49 each. Some of us may 'run' to the bar afterwards...
... We have a maximum allocation of 20 spaces, some of which have been taken already. Message us by Thursday to ask for payment details and claim your place! You MUST send this payment before Thursday night - there will be no spaces left on Monday night for those who just turn up.
There will also be a prize for the best Christmas jumper, so bring your A-game (bonus points if it matches our yellow community colours!).

Tonight is our Sweatshop Running Community 5k run!
We hope to see as many of you as possible!

Didn’t think we’d make the news about the closure but appreciate the thought and humbled by it.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that the store will be closing down in February 2018.
As a team the news has hit us hard but unfortunately it is just one of those things.
We would like to reflect on the positives the store has provided over the years, whether it’s a weekly running group we host where many friendships have been formed or the countless number of people we have got on the road to take up running.
... The hardest part of the news is that as a team we probably won’t be working together anymore which is upsetting to take as we see each other more as a family than work colleagues.
There will be a Sweatshop concessions stand placed into the new Sports Direct building that is opening in Meadowhall come February.
We would like to say thank you from everyone here at Sweatshop Meadowhall and hope to see you before the closing date.

Spoke to Olly ? 3 weeks ago, very knowledgeable and helpful, had a shoe fitting, and although could not sell me shoes then and there as they were not in stock, I ordered on line .... couldn't,t be more satisfied ....gutted you're closing as it's the running shop I always go to ... all the best for the future , you will be missed .... and thanks again olly !!

Popped in for an assessment on my feet and running and so pleased I did . I was served straight away and the young lady was professional and made the whole process straight forward. I wasn't rushed and allowed to try out the new trainers on the treadmill before purchasing. I highly recommend the insoles they create for your individual foot shape. They made a huge difference to the support, comfort and feel of the trainer. Well worth the price �

My partner and I visited your store a few days ago after we decided to get back into running. The chap who dealt with us was very knowledgable and gave his honest advice. We felt no pressure to buy. We had our strides analysed and the best type of trainers for us identified. As it turned out the source of my partners knee pain was identified and almost fully corrected with insoles. 3 days of running later and all is well. Very happy with our purchase and would not hesitate to recommend or use again. Thank you

Just treat myself to some new trainers ready for my first half marathon in March. Such a helpful and friendly shop. Never had such comfy trainers and will definitely return, thank you! :)

I visited the store last week and was MASSIVELY impressed with both the staffs knowledge of there products and the customer service I received,

I went in looking for a new pair of running trainers and was initially greeted but not hassled by staff, I browsed the section and chose a pair of trainers, I spoke to a staff member called "Jo" who assisted me, I tried the trainers on but they didn't feel right, my ankle was rolling over in them and it was obvious they was no good for me, "Jo" then suggested a second pair she thought would be more suitable for me, I will add that this pair she suggested was £45 cheaper than the model I had chosen myself!! I tried them on and they feel amazing, needles to say I bought them.

It was obvious to me that the staff ("Jo") was looking out for what best suited me and not simply making more money for the shop, and I wouldn't go anywhere else now I have experienced the very high level of expertise and customer care offered by SweatShop Meadowhall!!!!

I don't usually post reviews but I felt compelled to do so after the service I received today.

Just been in to your shop today (22/1/17 at 1300) to have my gait tested and I was seriously impressed with the young lady that served me. She was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in her assessment of my feet, she explained what she was doing and why. She was polite and professional. Unfortunately I never got her name but she had long blonde hair and braces She is a credit to your company and I will certainly be visiting your shop for all running needs after my experience today. Many thanks again.

I attended Sweatshop on 2nd July 2016 and was highly impressed with the quality of service I received from Emma. I have some ankle issues and wanted to establish the best footwear for my needs. The store have really high tec equipment and Emma obviously knew her stuff and made it a great shopping experience. The trainers and tailor made insoles feel like they will make walking a bit more comfortable in the future and hopefully help delay further deterioration. I will definitely continue to buy my footwear from this store. Thank you Emma.

Had gait analysis done and the service I had was fantastic. Didn't feel rushed, given so much information to help me decide - thank you very much, would recommend you to anyone. Can't wait to get out running in my new trainers!

Had gait analysis and customised insoles made by Ash yesterday. I've previously had gait analysis done elsewhere and i wasn't impressed. This time was so much better. Was made to feel like i had all the time in the world to choose the right shoes. Fantastic service.

Great help from a lass though I didn't catch her name but she was working on the 12th July in the evening and was wearing mizuno trainers. she recommended a few in my very tight budget and she pointed me in the direction of mizuno wave. First run tonight with them, exact same 10k as Monday night and a hole 8 minutes faster than my average time with no knee pain either I carnt believe the difference in a proper good quality trainer. Carnt recommend her help and patience enough shame I never caught her name. Definitely recommend others to come here in future

Amazing service received from a guy on 23rd December late evening, wish I knew his name. I had my gait analysed along with orthotics made for my feet! Definitely worth the money. First time I have had it done. It's definitely solved all my annoying running niggles. I brought the adidas supernova's as recommended from you in the store for which I later brought of your website and they are amazing. Can't thank you guys enough just wish you were closer to where I live. Excellent knowledge and expertise.

really disappointed in the service i received after having to travel back to meadowhall to return faulty trainers ( the sole came loose on the first run with them!) that were a gift i was told i could could only replace with trainers nearly £40 more expensive and when i suggested it was a bit bad not only the fact we had to travel quite a way to bring them back we would then have to spend a lot more to replace us there anything i could do i was offered no apology or no compensation i simply was told have your money back then??! very bad service such a shame after spending lots of money in the past with these guys i sadly won't be recommending or returning any more

If I could rate this shop 0 I would have! I women serving us implied my mum was fat! She walked out upset and extremely insulted. not to mention the member of staff's attitude was disgusting! Clearly your staff need better training and better manners! Will NOT be returning!!
